I know you said you only wanted V-8s, but how about a bold, colorful, clean, 2.8L. You have to have some variety. It might be slow, but 2.8Ls have a neat look. I wish I havd some shots of it now. The engine compartment is black and the accesories are candy apple red. Still have the red looms and I will soon have red coolflex hoses.
another to add to your list, '88 iroc-z, 5.7 liter, w/ ATI D1sc and 3-core intercooler

I'm in Houston too!
Your TT engine looks sweet. I think you were selling them? right?
Yea, unfortunately. If nobody buys, it's no big deal. Just means I'll have to finish it. Damn the bad luck
. There's so many other things that I would like to do too. And money has been tight for a while, plus all my car buddies are on the other side of houston so it's just not as fun anymore. Once I sell the turbos I'll finish the car keeping the motor and nitrous, putting it in the 10's and then sell it as well. I officially put the turbos for sell this morning in the temp class. section...........sounds stupid but I almost started crying..........I've been building this car for 4 years......and it's almost like admitting failure and never seeing what 9.50's feel like. But like I said, it won't break my heart if nobody buys. Where abouts in houston are you?

Ok so this isn't technically *MY* engine. It's a picture of a short block from Nu-tek. They're in the process of building my engine:
396 forged stroker (shortblock) including: Cola crank, Eagle H-beam rods, SRP pistons, splayed 4 bolt conversion, Callies billet splayed caps

Those are an I-beam design and either you ment to say Eagle "SIR" rods or some other similar I-beam rod.
Engines are looking REAL good, need some more pictures of LS1 engines and big blocks installed.
I'd post a picture but it isn't worth the effort. It's just a simple 14x3 chrome open element with an edelbrock 3 point carb STB and VERY dirty.
edit: The more I look at the picture the less those look like the SIR rods because those are thicker, hmmm...hope you reply to this

cobrakiller,
My car is an '86 - and yeah, I've got to admit the thought has crossed my mind. It definitely makes things a bit cleaner + it is hell to replace all those v-belts, and especially the powersteering.
How much is involved to do the swap??

Ken

Really?? So other than the pullies you'd just need the brackets, and then re-route the wires and A/C hoses?
Anything else that would be needed?
Thanks for the heads up!

Chevyken. if you are considering the swap in the summer. i will have an almost complete set for sale for about $200. both brackets. power steering pump, A/C compressor, smog if you want it, you will just need an altenator. for a few more bucks i might bead blast it like i am doign to mine. let me know if you are interested. ill take pics of mine when im done powdercoating them.
