FINALLY!!!...some pics!!!

It's been a long time coming, but i finally got some pics of my ride.
She's an 89 Iroc L98. I'm especially fond of the gold...It had to grow on me, but now I wouldn't change it! Since these pics, I've added new tires and re-striped the car...but I've also been hit in the a$$, and I need a new bumper cover. I'm getting ready to do a complete interior overhaul this spring, but unfortunately, the exterior isn't quite as clean as it was in these pics. Close...but not quite. She's being releived of daily driver status this spring as well, so I know she's excited about that, but unfortunately since my long term goals for her are starting to be put in motion...it also means that new paint and minor body work (not the bumper!) will have to wait till after the engine...which is possibly a few years off still. Gotta look at the big picture I guess. Anyway...tell me whatcha think!

Clean looking car you have. Is it me or is the color/brightness adjust of the photos a little off.

Actually, the brightness is toned down on the front shot due to the bright spot on the garage...right by the widshield. Other than that no computer work...Howver, I've done a ton of photography and I adjust my camera settings to the conditions on every given shot...so yeah, there's a little magic in there...

...I'm surprised you could tell, I see so many, I can hardly tell...

...The car IS actaully that clean, but I wont submit a photo that doesn't do it justice.

....Ya know...we're you thinking it looked like too much contrast? I just scanned them tonight, and I'm comparing them to the actual prints and the blacks all look a little dark...could that be cuz I had to lower the dpi in photoshop?...from the original scan? I mean

Looks very very clean. Looks good, I'm not a fan of gold, but still looks very good.

Quick question here though... The umm... shack behind it?

Any reason the picture was taken near it???

Sorry I don't know all the technical jargain of photos. I just thought that your car was an unusual shaded color, so I figured you might have adjusted something. I know one day after I polished my car I took like 30 pics, well I had accidently hit the adjust brighten button and the pics came out brighter than normal, and my car almost looked orangish.

I think the shack is a good background, gives it a country look.

I think it's got about 150k. I switched out my guage cluster when it quit working and I didn't keep track of the mileage. currently it reeads about 20k, but who knows.

I was told it was not repainted...but I wouldn't bet the farm on that. I can't find evidence....maybe he really took that good care of it....nice thought right!

I love your car and the photos.

Here is my observation. The contrast looks a little bit pumped up or else your white level adjustment on your camera (if it has one) is off because it looks like the yellow hue is dominant. Or it could just be something else in the translation from photo to computer image. What it really looks like is a super-saturated rendering with a tendency to yellow or green.

And, of course, reds are very difficult for TVs and computer monitors to render correctly. I'm looking at it on my NEC MultiSync FE950+ Diamondtron that I've more or less tweaked within an inch of its life.

I adjusted the gamma a bit, which affects the mid-tones. Do you think it is more like the original now?

Reds, oranges and some shades of yellow and green are just killers on an RGB cathode ray picture tube.

i think the colors in the grass being all around the range of colors of the yellow or goldish color on the car... caused somtin to seem a lil screwy.. prolly our eyes playin tricks...

Or it could be that tone of red has more of a yellow hue to it. The highlights seem to be leaning toward that yellow tone.

Nice looking IROC,although I have to agree that the hue/saturation is off in those pics

OK, I bumped up the brightness a little and eased up the contrast a hair....it's closer to the original, but not perfect. The photoshop guru at work said that with all the contrasts in the image, it's tough to get perfect...It's that simple. A photo is exactly what's there, a computer file is the computer's "idea" of what it looked like...nowhere near the same

...anyhoo...glad ya like the pics.

It looks excellent Abubaca. Very clean, and I think it's perfect just like that, right down to the gold accented rims and striping. Wouldn't change a thing.
