PLEASE! Ques. about interior....

My friend is thinking about taking theback seats out of his 86 Camaro and putting a box(that would be carpeted) in back there so it is flush w/ the carpet behind the seats so he doesn't have junk all over making itlook bad inside.....i just want to know what people would think if u like that idea or if don't say so and i thank you for your opinions in advance.....

Personally i would leave the back seat they are very useful. u never know when u gotta take more then 1 person some where. and with the fold down u can get lots more cargo area. i have been able to sit 3 people and 3 sets of skies in my car .
jsut my 2 cents

I would leave the backseat in. I think it wouldnt look right to me. Kinda like those people who through subs in the back where they are scraping against the hatchback.

leave them in!

You never know when you may actually have to squeeze someone back there, but i guess they can sit on your speakers.
I always liked the way the trunk area looked with a properly built box, IMO.

I found this a while back, shows a great idea for the amps:

But all together, I'd just leave the back seats. If you do remove em, make sure it looks nice when the box goes in.

I'd leave them in, all the pictures I've seen with them out look silly. However if you had a notch back, It might look very clean.

Yeah I would leave the back seats in. It just looks beter. You should probably get one of those custom fit Q-logic boxs in there. Most likey It would sound just as good.

I plan on taking my back seat out and building a custom box that will fit where the back seats went. It will hold my speakers and my amp in the middle. It will be carpeted the same color as teh floor carpet, speakers facing toward the hatchback so the sound still richochets of the hatch glass for that deep sound. I'm doing it for clearance for a 6 point roll cage, as people wont really want to sit back there anyways. Plus I am going to lower the car after awhile and dont want a bunch of people riding around in the back bottoming everything out. I wont be doing this for a few years though.

I would leave the seats in there also. My 'vert had the backseats removed when I got it, and I went through a lot of crap to put them back in.

Hey, go for it! I think it would be cool. I have plans of my own like that. Don't really like a third person, specially when I'm driving around with my girlfriend and my friends are like, hey we can get in the back and just ride with yall. he he Besides it seems like a good way to hide a nitrous bottle and my toolbox, since my subs sit in my hatch well.

I would think that a bunch of subs and amps would lower your car just as much as people sitting in the back of your car. I guess it depends on the type of system you run but I like the look of the back seats it is what separates f-bods from vettes. IMO
