Need a Change of Colour...
So here's the deal...
Bought my '85 T/A early January-- Drove 2 hrs up, looked at it, gave the guy a handshake-- Flew to Florida (from Boston) to go back to school, my buddy picked it up and it's been in my garage ever since--- This week I finally came back up North and got to drive her
Aside from being incredibly SICK and realllly fun to drive (This is my first T/A) it's extremely mechanically sound-- The only issue with the whole deal is the colour...
Originally, it was "Dark Auburn" .. I'm pretty sure that's the colour it still is-- But over the years it has faded to the point that right now it is a nice paint job that is precisely the colour of rust. Not exactly attractive.
SO i'm thinking paint job, obviously. (Question A-- What's eveyone's feelings on Makko? I heard they don't do a great job taping the car up.. any truth to that?)
The more difficult part is that the interior (with the exception of the seats, dash, and center console) is the same colour as the exterior. The carpet is nearly orange at this point, the plastic pannels are a darker redish / brown. I would be up for changing the carpet, but all the plastic in the car too? It seems like the changes i would have to make to the interior to make the paint match would outweigh the need for a paint job. Then i look at the car from the outside again... I realllllly need to get this colour changed. (Hopefully i'll have the ugly pictures tomorrow)
So question B is what the hell colour is going to look relativley good with a Redish Brown interior???
Don't get me wrong, i love the car, it's sooo much fun to drive. It's got a 305 / 5 speed in it... never would have bought the car if it was auto
Thanks guys, tell me your thoughts...

Well I can tell you the maaco in my town dos a great job. I don't know what color you would want, but Viper Blue is the best blue there is or a really sweet Silver color.....as for the interior,,,,black maybe? (4th gen seats and console of course)

Well first off try searching the site for this. It has been posted a million times. Second is it just depends on the area and who works at the Maaco. I have had awesome work come out of the local one around here. Third is maybe a silver, black, or if you want something rare go with Pepper Grey Metallic. Check out my sig.

Just remember you get what you pay for. From what I've heard you better do good prep work. My grandfather took his S10 in to get painted. What ever wasn't taped it got painted. Ended up screwing him over.
