SO easy and man what a difference!

Hey guys you have seen these for sale on Feebay right??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...746746&r=0&t=0

Well I made mine look just as good by taking it off, cleaning it real well and painting it gloss black then freehanding the Camaro letters in gold. Man it looks awesome, actually better than the one in the auction and it didn't cost me a dime, well okay maybe a dime but not much more. Now all I need to do is gloss cote it and put it back on!

If your grill insert looks like poop like mine used to you should do it to yours!!

Takes 10 or less minutes to get it off and however long it takes you to paint it?

Good luck, just figured you guys might like to know a cheap/free Appearance improver!!

I refinished mine in satin black. I like it a LOT better than the glossy style.

That might not be a bad thing! It's not too hard to do, just undo four screws on the sides and two screws on each side at the top and it slides right off!

Then I jsut took a rag and cleaned it real well with soap and water, dried it and then used alcohol.

After that dried I sprayed about ten "VERY LIGHT" layers of grey primer until it was totally covered.

Then I let that dry for about 5 or so hours. Found the gloss black that I wanted and sprayed it on the same way I did the primer until it was totally covered.

After about 3 hours of letting that dry (I WAS GETTING IMPATIENT AND THOUGHT IT LOOKED AWESOME, SHOULDA WAITED A LITTLE LONGER FOR IT TO DRY), I took a gold paint marker and did the CAMARO letters and any spots that got to big or whatever I took a gloss black paint marker and touched those spots up.

This is where I am at right now, still letting it dry and I will probably gloss cote it later tonight!

The gloss is a personal preference, I am curious to see what it will look like in the satin finish that Jim85IROC stated he did his in, but I am going to go ahead with the gloss finish.

Hope this helps some guys, wish I woulda done some before/during and after pics for all of you!

While this was drying though I took my fog light rings off and sprayed them with black rustoleum and did the same thing to the rear window metal piece.

Talk to you guys later
