Maaco or Earl Schieb?

The fact is this summer I'm getting my car painted at one of these places. No reason bother telling me not to. I'm going to strip it down, sealer primer it fix everything and paint it close to the original color (frost beige). I'm going to take most everthing off (taillights, trim etc. . .) and tow it on a trailer to the shop. I'm going to get about 3 coats of clearcoat (or as many as possible) and get it painted. Then wet sand it and buff it later. I'm sure it will look good. as long as I do flawless body work. My main question is. . .

Who is better OF THE TWO?

Earl Shieb or Maaco?

Don't bother telling me about your bad experiences at either of these. Car isn't worth a 2000 paint job. This will do.

Take care,
Jon

Anyone have any input? If you were to get your car painted at one of these places, which one would it be?

I've seen a maaco paint job on a black daytona that actually looks top notch. The car was only a few years old when he had it repainted so the body was perfect. But now after about ten years the car still looks new.

I've never had a chance to see what earl shieb's best paint jobs look like.

Maaco is good, go with them, get the 400 pain job. Just do all the bodywork your self and give them a good preped surface.

This is my bro's 84 Camaro Sport Coupe. It was painted by Maaco. GIVE THEM THE BEST PREPPED SURFACE! The paint on his car was spray 3 years ago. Still going strong.

I got my '89 Grand Prix painted at Earl Shieb about 2 years ago. My uncle has the car now and the paint still looks great. The job cost about $350 for their "Platinum Metallic" color. There was a small rough spot or two but in direct sunlight the amount of metallic flake they put in was blinding.

Defianatly give a good service to either, My 91 Nissan has a 5 year old paint job and it looks good except on the hood where it is starting to rust under the paint and has broken few in a few tiny spots.
