I am debating on what color to have them painted. A friend of mine has a spray gun and he has painted cars before so that wont be a problem. Man Im tellin ya, when I took them to him I had no idea they were going to shine like this. They are like damn mirrors. I wonder if I should clear coat them.
I live in Pilot Mountain, NC and a guy just about 5miles away did them for me I saw his card at a parts strore and this was the result.
If you would like I can post his name and number and you guys can go from there.

They look great. How much did he charge you? He just did the easy spots so it shouldnt have costed alot. I did my own rims, they were a biatch to do but they'll look great with real paint on them. The paint in my pic really sucks so I'm gonna strip it and use reall paint instead of the spray can this time

If you do clear coat them, be sure it is done right. I did my own and they arn't shiny at all. I put the clear coat on too dry. But I don't think clear coating them would be a bad idea. That way they are protected from rocks, and salt.
Here are mine: Bottom of page.
Wheels
I did mine with the automotive can spray paint, but when we repaint the cars, I will probably go over them again so the color is more even . They should look twice as good then.

The reason I need to paint them is because the parts that are suppose to be painted are really not, they are just stripped all the way down. The rims are off the car and in my living room. Im in the process of changing my interior over to black from the dreaded RED!!!....yUK!
heres a before picture of my rims. Tell me they dont look different... MAN!!! gotta love polishing....

85SportCoupeto89RS,
Holy **** those came out good man, nice work.
I like both your wheels, I guess I need to get back started on my 91 Z28 wheels.

I polished mine the same way, just on the flat spots. I think the wheel loses its trademark look when the whole thing gets polished. Anyway, I powercoated the wheels clear, then painted the windows charcoal, a color a little darker than the stock gray. I'm very happy with the result. They're just like stock, except with more contrast between the polished and painted areas.

When I paint mine I dont think im going to go to dark I kinda like the light grey look to them.
(Redbird_400) The reason the rims got a gold tint is because they are under a light that has gold rods therefore giving the rims a gold tint.
(Camrs89) Heres a pic of the seats. The drivers seat is worn a little but still look fine in a car.
(Mark A. Shields) Heres the guys name and number that did my rims.

Those look exactly like mine did after I polished them. They'll lose a little shine after a while on the road. I used some Eagle One Polished Wheel cleaner and got 98% of the shine back but I might go back and polish them some more and add some black paint to bring out the shine even more. I'll scan some pics Monday and post them.
