Bandit Editions
While dilivering pizzas as usual this weekend I stubled upon a bandit edition thirdgen firebird. It kinda looks like a pro am. Can you guys tell me a little more about this car.
The Bandit II's which you are refering to were made at the same place as the Pro Am's in Tn. Choo Choo Customs well know for Truck & Van conversions produced 500 a year from '87-'89 and 600 a year from '90-'92. Then the Company closed their doors. The option was mostly performed on regular base model 305 TBI Firebirds so performance was not the best. The appearance package consisted of a Shaker style hood scoop like the first Bandit Trans Am's, "Bandit II" decals on the side ground effects and on the rear bumper, and a place on the dash board of the car denoting which number car it was of the Bandit II's built that year. They also had customized interiors with things like wood paneling and a polished aluminum instrument panel cover. They also had special wheels. They are pretty rare cars and not often seen and then usually only in the Tri-state area where the option was available. And most of the owners have no clue that their cars are even rare.
Here's you some pics.
