'87 spoiler removal???

hi, i have an '87 trans am with that junk rubber spoiler. its cracked and the paint is faded and i want to replace it with a 91/92 high rise spoiler off the camaro. i was told that to remove it, you have to take the whole rear window off and unbolt the spoiler and then you have to remove the paneling that is imbedded in the window which could be tough. the guy told me that he has broken a few windows doing this(owns a body shop). i was wondering if this is the only way to go and if anyone has any tips on removing this piece of junk??? thanks a lot!

jeff

You have to unbolt the 4 bolts underneath the lid, then you with 2 people slide the rest of the spoiler twards the front of the car, making sure u lift the back of the spoiler lightly off the deck lid. Do not need to take off the glass, body shop might do that to run up the hourly labor. Or if it is in really poor shape like this kid i know, you can just pull up on it and the thing will rip off with no effort, but that thing was about to fall off the car. Good luck, I hoped this helped
