4k for that? I'd offer 2,500 just because it has a new paint job.

looks nice, but not for the price. it's 4000, no TPI or goodies, and the car looks kinda tossed together (used car dealers like to pull that one off) Note the firechicken on the steering wheel, kinda makes me wonder what else is slapped on there. I'm not sure what the prices run in texas, but look in the newspaper/swapsheet and check out what they run in there. 4000 seems mighty steep to me, just be glad theres an extra space on the odometer, i'm sure they woulda tried to pass it off as 16K. Keep an eye on the whole market, theres alot out there. Also, look for body filler, check underneath, check to see if it has clean oil, look inside the gas filler door for bubbles, rust pariphanalia, etc. Keep a close eye on the car, and whatever you do, DON"T think of how sweet it would be to drive the hell out of it while your looking it over, otherwise you'll say, "it's an easy thing to fix" and you'll be under it more than in it. Good luck, remember, for 4 grand make sure it's the top dollar car they're selling it as.

You can find a lot of 3rd gens better looking, better equipped, and with less miles than that for $4000. Not too long ago,an 89 Iroc in almost mint condition with a 305 tpi sold for $3000 here in Austin.Last year I bought a 90 RS for my wife with t-tops,new paint, custom wheels,305/5-spd,and a stereo system and alarm for $4000.Just keep looking around and you'll find some good deals if you really want a 3rd gen.

Yeah, that asking price is way too high. If you wanted to spend $4000 you can get a clean Z28 or an IROC if you look harder. I wouldn't offer more than $2000 for that car. Good luck in your search!

Wow, where are you guys getting this 3rd gens so cheap? Is there that big of a difference geographically? I live in Ohio, and around here, 6 cylinders are getting the 4k price tag on them. Do a search on Auto Trader for anything around the 44111 area code (that's Cleveland), and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm trying to get rid of my 6, and I'm seriously thinking of just getting a project car (if I can find a garage to work on it, since I don't have one available to me), but the cheapest one I've seen is $2k and that's a friend of mine. The camaro posted has the look of a dealer item with the big 87 on the windshield, and I've never seen one for 2k from any dealer around here.

There will be a price difference geographically, but not by thousands on a vehicle like ours. There is a 6 cylinder down the street fron me going for $600. It has a crack in the windshield, but runs good and is mechanically sound for the most part. I bought an 82 berlinetta while living in Florida for $500. It had a 305 and was in decent condition. You want to hear the best deal I ever got on a 3rd gen? I bought a 15th anniv T/A. Recaro seats,t-tops,305H.O.,5 spd,3.73 posi rear with disc brakes, 64,000 miles, near mint condition paint and interior.$2000. Then I slammed it into a old cutlass because the driver of the Cutlass was a 15yr old girl with no liscense, and she decided to pull out in front of me while I was doing about 55mph That was about 7 years ago and I still get upset when I think about it.
