I like the ss hood, but it would be a toss up between the ss, the big block hood, and the ramair II hood. Either way you go they all look good on the thirdgens.

later.

welcome to the board.

How would you make this a functional application, is there anyone who sells the air intake to fit that.

What kind of problems would you run into with this hood?

i.e. driving in the rain.....

what do you mean the ss hood? I have a "bulge" hood. I've never heard of an "ss" hood.

I am using a solenoid that opens and closes a flap behind the opening in the hood,so I can close it whenever it rains. The air filter is sealed when the hood is shut to a "box" that gets air directly from the "ram-air" opening in my SS hood. The motor gets fresh air and doesn't suck in the heat from the headers/engine bay.

You have this exact hood?

Where do you get this solinoid / flap setup?

Does it come with it? If not where did you get it, and how much do they run?

Where can you get the box? And I'm sure there's different sizes, what size do I get?

Darn....

My car is all over the internet. I guess ASCD is letting venders use the pic. I wonder if I can claim commission on this!! Hmm...

Bryce....definitly go for it if you like the style. IMO, the lines of the hood really match to the ground effects of the 91-92 models.

I like the style but I wouldnt buy one unless it was fiberglass or carbon fiber (not sure what that hood is made out of? maybe fiberglass?)

After seeing that overhead pic of the hood......I definately want it.

Looks sweet.

Still I'd like to know where that guy got the set up to open and close a flap, so rain wouldn't come in. You almost have to have it right.......you don't want water getting into your carb.

Formie350: No problem.....I just checked with ASCD and your is expected to ship around middle of next week. They said they have been swamped with SS and BigBlock hood orders, which is why it's taking so long. Sorry it's taking longer than usual. Trust me, it's worth the wait though.

Mark305TBI: Thanks!

I made the setup out of aluminum sheets and abs plastic. I don't know of any company that makes a kit for this yet.

And for the person who didn't know what the hood is made of,it is fiberglass.
