Stock GM spoilers have a black plastic molded piece that is pop-riveted behind to support it. Aftermarket ones don't have it, but have the holes that would be used to attach one (I know because I just did). It takes a large dia head Pop-rivet (.625") 3/16" body for .376-.500 material grip range. I bought 18-8 ss rivets, but you don't have to. Because it was ss it was a b*tch to suck up the rivet and get it to break the stem using a hand operated pop-rivet gun. McMaster-carr stocks the rivets in aluminum w/al. mandrel #97447A075 or al w/steel mandrel #97517A075. http://www.mcmaster.com/

I haven't installed the spoiler yet, so I could snap some digital pictures if you need.

Good luck, Lon.

I don't think he was talking about the spoiler, I think he was talking about the top of the bumper cover where the emblem is.

OK. I've never seen them. They wouldn't be stock. Lon

ront bumper cover panel indentations

i was talking about the nose panel if you are looking at the front of the car, the pointed nose panel just below the hood in the center and to both sides of the emblem...that is where it dips in...i have seen countless Camaros with the same problem and saw something on the web about reinforcment panels you could put on the back side to prevent this from happening
any ideas guys?

You might have to make something, its been a problem with GM's rubber bumper panels for years, Ever seen a 75-82 Corvette, they have the same problem.. Fortunately for them they have fiberglass parts available...

You might consider taking some sort of foam and making it fit behind the front facia to support it, to make it straight. Unfortunately I think after it begins to sag, it also stretches, so getting it "perfect" might be a challenge...

All thirdgens that I have seen do this. Tomorrow morning, im picking up an 85 T/A front bumper from the junk yard, and I'm gonna line the entire inside of it with fiberglass to reinforce it so it wont sag. If it turns out well, I'll write a tech article.

I just talked to my brother, who works for a very good body shop (read...not MAACO!!) and he recommends doing that to a NEW bumper cover, one that's not sagging, to keep it from getting deformed. He told me that it's really not worth the effort to spend the time fixing an already deformed bumper. Just shell out the $300 for a new one. Keep in mind that his shop is worried about making money, so that may not be your situation. I would try and fix it, if I didn't have the "body shop connection".

I'm fiberglassing mine right as we speak and it is a hell of alot more rigid than stock.
I also put metal reinfornment on top of the fiberglass.

BumpaD yours isnt even that bad. The nose that was on my car, before my accident, was perfect. The new one the shop put on sags about as much as yours does and like I said it isnt that bad. Iv'e seen SO much worse o_o If it gets worse, just replace it.
