Disc Changer install
Well I am looking for honest opinions good or bad. I just finished my 6 disc changer install and even though I was hesitant about cutting the plastic I did it anyway in hopes of acomplishing something that looks half way stock.

Thank you for the complements. My only dilema now is where to mount the controller,, as of now I have it in the center counsel and I just take it out when I use it. Does any one have any pics of whaere they mounted the controller.

Once on speedvision about a year ago I saw a car with a bad assed custom stereo. He had his detachable face mounted in the sun visor and everything ran from there. I think it would be really cool if you would put the controller there! It doesn't sound that hard thinking about it. The most difficult part about it would probably be not mangling the sun visor while cutting it. Just my thoughts...

I like where you have the changer. Good idea. My plan for my controler is to put it in the center console near the power window buttons. There is a little area of blank plastic just in front of the armrest. Again you will have to cut the plastic but it will look neat and professional there. Sorry no pics but you know where I mean.
What did you use on the borders of the cut you made? Looks like foam... I'd like to hear about all the materials you used for the job and a layout of what to do... maybe post it in the tech articles...
Nice custom job :-)

Well don't laugh, but I used vacuume line. I laid a piece out on my work bench and split it with my utility knife. I resorted to this only after looking for a couple days for some automotive edging. It turned out better than I thought it would. I will post some better pictures. If anyone desides to do this be sure to look behind that carboard liner. there is a bracket back there that can interfere with the installation if you do not position the hole far enough back. I had to tweak mine a little to make it work.
