Another Blue Thirdgen Totaled

A few days ago it looked great and now its total. The car was just droped off to me this week for a parts car. This girl up the road owned it and put the car into a phone poll at about 80. She is ok, but the car is totaled. She hit so hard in the front that it pushed the doors into the rear quarters, the engine went into the firewall, cracked the tranny and bent the roof up. The drivers seat is bent all to hell and the, the floor is buckled, the center console broke and the dash split. Check out these sad pics.

Another picture of the side, check out the gap between the side window and the roof. Notice the rear quarter buckled in.

how the hell is she ok, shes lucky to be a live, that thing crumbled

are they supposed to go that bad

I'd expect something like that if it had aftermarket T-Tops or a targa, or something else that might weaken the integrity of it.

She fell asleep doing 80 and went straight into a phone poll. I don't think any car would stand up to a dead on 80mph hit with no braking. She only has a small bruise on one sholder.

Interesting wheels
Those look like either early '80 Z28, or 86-88 Monte Carlo SS wheels.

Saywhut would be correct, they are late 2nd gen wheels or Monte Carlo SS wheels. I also part out Monte carlo SS's and have about 14 sets of these wheels. They add a nice spin over stock z/28 wheels.

Fell asleep, while putting on her makeup and talking on the cell phone at 80MPH. I agree, very lucky girl to come out of that one alive. Good thing it wasn't a 1700 lb Civic.

How far from Rochester is this new business?

Damn, that was a stupid thing to do. She should be glad G o d was watching over her, if she got out with only a bruised shoulder.

She should have realized how tired she was and stopped and gotten out and walked for 5 minutes. Or called someone to get her.

And some women drive better than others....I am one of the better drivers.

I'm actually wondering how the Hell they got that off the pole.

i still can't figure out how she lived through that crash, she is one lucky person.

ruined a perfectly good car.i don't know why she was driving that kind of car anyways, women who can't drive need to stick with the s**T neons and be happy.

Anyone can tell you that she is still alie because she WAS asleep at the time of the accident. A person sleeping is in a relaxed state and a relaxed person is less likely to be injured. Had she been awake she would've tensed up & probably suffered broken legs and arms.

My guess is that when she hit the pole she lurched forward, bounced off the wheel & smashed back into the seat, breaking it in the process.

Wow! That car held up pretty well considering the speed. Does it have sub-frame connectors?

There was a wreck here in the Cleveland area that involved a late '80s Mustang driven into a pole at about 85 mph that left the car in many pieces and the three occupants dead. If I were that girl I'd buy another Camaro!

I won't let anyone drive my car except me, especially now that it was just painted blue, which seems to be an unlucky color for 3rdgens...

Did the pole break? Maybe she broke the poll and continued through after she hit it.

As for the seats, just thing if somebody took your seat back and flipped it up at 50-80 mph instantly. It would try to pull away from the seats's base, or something would bend. Like that did. Hell my seat on my car was broke when I got it, and it hadn't been wrecked.
