questions on 85mph cluster to 145mph swap
I got a 145 mph cluster and want to replace my 85mph gauges. How do I keep the milage right?can I just take the face off and roll it back and If I do do I have to get this certified in someway to be legal? Also can I swap the 145 gauges to my 85mph cluster?(white part)I kinda messed up the back of the white cluster on the 145 set.Everything looks the same.Anything else I should know???1986 iroc.thanks

I just put a 120 cluster in my formula instead of an 85.. Yes you can put just the speedo unit in your old cluster.. To keep the mileage the same I took the odometer unit out of the speedos and swapped them.. It's just a few screws. Turning it back would be harder.
There shouldnt be anything else you need to do. Should be a direct swap.. I had questions when I did mine. The first 120 speedo I put in read wrong. But it turned out to be a bad speed unit. The second works perfectly with no other changes.

It's easy to roll the numbers if you take them out. This of course is only legal in order to show the CORRECT milage when swapping gauges. It's probably easier just to take the numbers from your original speedo and swap them into the 145 unit.

all 3rd gen camaro speedos from 82-89 are a direct swap, just plug and play. many states dont even keep track of the mileage on cars that are 10yrs old or older, titles just say odometer exempt or the like.
