Looking for a set of Boyd Coddington Wheels
I think a set of Boyd Coddington wheels would look great on a trans am....going to upload FlyinLow's photoshop of it.
They are described as "Tuner" Wheels, and are the same ones that were on CarnDrvr's car.
Any idea where I can get a set of these? I've checked ebay, and boyd coddington's website...along with just searching the net. No luck. They seem to be a discontinued style (or at least they're not the hottest sellers)....any ideas?

Car: too many ...
I was just playing mental games. Its too late for me to cancel the wheels, its taking them 6 weeks to custom make them. I just hate the idea of spending that much on the wheels and then seeing alot of other people with them. Welcome to reality CrazyHawaiian.
Even though the 'Tuned' wheels are not listed on the Boyd Coddington website, they still make them. I know where you can get hooked up. www.sportruck.com I think he quoted me $995 for a set of 17's not including tires (17x8 front w/ 4.5" backspacing and 17x9.5 rear with 5.5" backspacing). Talk to Jeff at Sportruck.Com (877-615-0399) tell him the CrazyHawaiian sent you. I decided to go extreme and order a set of 18's.

Don't worry about others having them man...I won't be able to afford them (if then) at the end of the summer. I'm just setting my plans early. And beyond that...you'll have 18s....I'll have 17s....you have a camaro...I havea GTA. No biggie. I want some up and personal pics of them whenever you get a chance.
Thanks for replying. I had no idea where to find them. :hail:

A grand, thats it! j/k It is considerably lower than the Fiske's or Simmon's wheels. I got a quote for 17by9.5 and 17by11 for around $2400 without tires! I think i may have a new winner for next year. Thanks for the info Crazy-later

I sure hope you guys are kidding. You're gonna make him depressed with all these peeps with the same rims.
Oh well...I'm a hypocrite. I want those rims. Just not 18s.

No seriously, i like that style! Enkie wheels makes a style like that. I really think the multi spokes like that with the deep dish and rivets look good! Some may call it rice but i think it look sreal good. Besides, think of how many of the same hoods everyone has, that gets old real quick. And for $1000 those are a nice set of wheels.

Remember CarNDrvr?
He had those rims on his sweet blue 92 RS. 17x9" in the front and 17x11" in the back nonetheless. Yeah, he needed fat tires to hook up with 500+ horses at the crank. Anyway, I was getting those rims for my car until I came across a really good deal on some ZR1s with tires. You really can't beat made-to-order billet aluminum rims for under a grand. Heck, you could pay just as much for any other rim of similar size, maybe even more, and not get anywhere close to the cool factor these ones have.
CrazyHawaiian, are you sure they're still being made? I have always been told Boyd Coddington rims are made in limited numbers. The production runs are short and styles are discontinued after not too long. I remember back when this issue came up before, everybody's pet peeve was the fact that you would have to get a complete new set of rims if one broke because you can't buy just rim alone due to limited availability. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

If you know the right people you can get any style made. You are right that they are made in limited quantities, but they always keep the molds. So it just a matter of switching the molds with whatever style they are currently making.
And its funny that you mentioned car'N'Driver. The first time I saw these rims they were on his car. Looked so damn nice. Then he sold it on Ebay. I would have bought it for $9k but had to save the money for something else at the time ... 383 w/ a 6 speed yup that car was badass.
