Shaved door handles

Anyone whos done this, where did you buy your kit from, and what size door poppers did you use? Can you still use the door handle on the inside to get out? Also, does anyone have pics of the intal proscess on a third gen? I'm just currious to see what it looks like installed on the inside of the door. Thanks

Joe

A) Do a search - it's been covered a bunch of times.

B) You can check my site at www.transamtemple.com to see my install.

Good luck with it,
Steve

Got mine from Summit. It went on someone elses' car though. :/

Biggest ones you can find.. Thirdgen doors are heavy.

steve does good work check out his site above.

also I believe "deadbird" took pics .. oh no wait those were 4thgen handles.. well, the process will be similar

all you're basically doing is replacing the outside handle or rod with a solenoid. a rod still goes to the inside handle.

Glad to help - my only other piece of advice is to actually watch the guy weld your skins. I've noticed a hairline crack on my drivers side door where the depression used to be so I'm wondering if my guy even bothered welding it, or if he just bullsh!t me.

Hey scauffiel
Great web site... I like that hood and the shaved handles. How much extra clearence do you get with the Ram Air II? I have the Holley Street Dominator intake with 2" spacer and Holley 4150 800 dp. Sits up pretty high.

Thanks brother - The raised portion of the hood is around four inches high, so that should give you plenty of room. If you need it I can try to get some pix inside the nostrils to see...

Well, I can't get any shots that actually show the space over the air cleaner. Looking at it it looks like at least 3" of space over my air cleaner lid, which sits on a K&N 14" x 3" element, which sits on a Holley 750 V/S, and that in turn sits on a Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. So, as long as your stuff isn't taller than that combo by more than three inches you should be okay.
