Leaky boot

I have a 91 Z28 and water gets in around the boot/rear screen where the glass stops and the spolier joins. There is a indentation about 3in long that after time deforms the boot weather seal so it leaks. I have replace the seal but it started happening again. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop the leak?

Hey jimt1968,I've got the same problem with the dented seal.Perhaps it's the hatch that needs re-aligning.There have been other posts on this in the past,so it's worth a look.I take it you're from the UK as our fellow Americans call the boot a trunk!!!Perhaps nobody knows what the hell you're on about!!! Good luck my friend.

I will try and change how far the 'trunk' glass is pulled down by the locking mechanisim maybe its too tight and deforms the seal. Your car sounds pretty awesome have you raced it yet? What times have you run?

mine has the same dent you are talking about, as far as i can tell mine doesn't leak from there though... are you sure that is where the leak is coming from? when it is wet out, if you open the 'boot' and take off the trim plastic, can you see where the water is actualy getting in the car from?

there are many places on the rear hatch area that CAN leak. i would try to find out exactly where it is leaking before spending money to try to fix leaks.
