Accident today, need help with front left turn signal, and a couple other things
Ok, I think this belongs in this forum. I got hit today, in the front right of my car, not too badly. Turn signal cracked, bulb shattered, grill cracked.
The fiberglass is cracked a little too, anyone know if this is repairable?
My main question is though that when I took out the lamp to change teh turn signal bulb, I noticed that the bulb and the wire had come out, and the bulb was shattered. Didn't think anything of it at the time. When I got the new bulb, I couldn't get it into the lamp (this is what i'm calling boxish thing that the bulb and wire goes into), because something was in the way. So I think, ok, you have to take it off to do this. So I take it off, put the bulb in, go to put it back in, and it won't fit. There is some thing, a big square thing, with like a frame inside of it. Made up of lots of little squares, one on each side of the car, just to the inside of the turn lights, which sit infront of the main frame. Well, the one on the drivers side got knocked out, and is now located behind the lamp, not allowing it to so all the way back with the bulb in. My question is, what is this thing, is it important, do I have to get it back over, can I just drill a hole in it so my light fits again?
Thank you for any help you can give.
One more thing, the hood is out of alingment, it closes a little on top of the body, and ideas on that?
Thanks.
Anyone has some parts for sale let me know

Thanks alot for the offer, but my turn signals have clear lenses. 91 RS. Thanks again for the offer though.
Neway, I was looking around trying to find some parts, when I found out what the thing I was talking about was called. I believe it is the front bumber support honeycomb, which has become knocked out of place, and is now preventing my light from going in. Think I should just drill a hole for the light?

If the bumper support is really damaged id suggest you get a new one, the bumper cover and fenders too. First of all id check if the frame was damaged in any way, cause we only got cheap *** unibodies and they crumple like tin foil.
any frame damage is not good, and costly to fix.
rear frame damage on my 1988 formula 350 from a 35 mph dead stop hit, would of cost 2,500 to fix.. so i didnt get it fixed.
try finding the parts you need on ebay or from one of the sponsors sites up top..
good luck fixing your car.

From what you described, it doesn't sound like you're in danger of any frame damage. When I bought my car, it was slightly damaged where the fender meets the front end, and the honeycomb bumper support was a little out of place. No frame damage though. If I were you, i'd try as hard as I could to try to re-align the bumper support so that the turn signal fits, before I'd go drilling holes through it. Keep us posted...

I actually got hit again yesturday, 2nd time in 4 days
Back passenger side. Just caught the rear bumper. So that needs to be replaced, he also pushed up the pannel, so there is a dent, with part of it sticking outward in front of it. Passenger door doesn't shut right, and front quarter panel is out of alingment. Taillight is cracked too. If you look at the car from the back with the hatch open, the left side is flat, and the right side slopes downward, so when the hatch is shut there is about a 1cm gap between it, and the car all the way to the right. Its going to the body shop today for insurance reasons, hopefully, I will get enough to just sell it for parts, brake even with what I paid for it, and get another camaro with a v8 and manual transmission. Although insurance is going to take a while to come though.
Thanks for the help though, ill keep u posted on what I decide to do with it I hate to see a car die

It just looks so good, people are attracted to it a little too much
Anyway, it is repairable, there doesn't apear to be any frame damage, but this isn't confirmed yet. However, whether its worth the money or not to fix it, i'm not sure. They refused to give me an extimate untill they knew if I was going through insurance or not, and they saw a police report (wierd). I need a whole bunch of stuff for it, so I have to figure out what they are going to give me for the damage. I'm assuming that whatever esitmate I do get is going to be assuming they go out and buy whatever parts need replacing new, so if i pull those off a junked car, I might have enough left to get teh front damage fixed, and just be back where I started.
