Fog Lights on 84 T/A
Fog Lights on 84 T/A
Hey guys,
I've got an 84 T/A with what looks to be newer gfx. On the front lower valence, there's panels that look to be removable (the drivers side has Trans Am inscribed on it), and I want to put fog lights in. I've seen T/A's with fogs there, but I don't know if I have to buy a different insert or what. Any body have any clues for me?

best bet would be to replace the grills with firebird 82-84 ones (louvered) and pop the fos in behind those grills Billsfirebird did it and they look great

ya i knew what ya were talking about but one thing i would advise against is cutting a hole in those and popping them in there
There was no way I was gonna cut a hole in those suckers! I guess what I'm really wanting to know, is if there is another insert (other than the grill type) that goes in there to house fog lights. I'm looking for an actual stock piece that is supposed to fit there where it looks good with fogs. I'm asking because I'm new to the T/A's. If there is, let me know where I can get 'em!

Theres nothing you can do without cutting using the grilles you have now; what Bill did is your best bet, I like it because the lights are hidden, but yet still provide light to the road. If you figure out anything else, let us know!

what i plan on doing SOMEDAY is buying the front bumper off of a GTA or new trans am that has the fog lights in them and then buying the GFX kit from the doors back.......who knows if it will work or not.........
here's a pic of my car......just in case you were to change your mind....

The only Firebird nose, besides the aformentioned 85-90 TA style,
that will allow you to put in foglights is the 91-92 nose. The problem with either of these noses, is that you have to get the ground effects to go with it. I'd opt for the 85-90 nose. It will fit your car better.
Otherwise, do what Bill did.

I've really never seen any inserts for sale that include fog lights. I would tend to agree with the earlier post that the easiest & most cost-efficient way would be to buy a used '85-'90 T/A nose.
