92Z wing on convertable?? Anyone seen this?
I have a 91 convertable, and I thought that I once saw somewhere on here someone who had put a 91 92 Z28 wing on their car. I know that there are some modifications to do to make it work, but I want to know if anyone has seen what I ONCE saw. If anyone can find this for me, I would appreciate it! A pic, link exc. Anything would help in my search. Thanks,
Joe

I've seen it also. Looks kinda cool. You can order through classic industries, I think. The only problem is that it is VERY expensive. Reason being is that it is supposed to be a bolt on and even includes a 3rd brake light. I want to say something like $900? I could be wrong though.

I really like that! I had thought that before when I had seen it, that the owner of the car had said that he had to do some modifying to make it work. I think that was because he was using one for a hatch car. And I printed out the page from Classic Industries, so I'll know where to find it when I'm ready to do it. I've made up my mind, that I really want to do that to my car. But I just need to save a little more money first......... Augh, the the only thing slowing me down from being done already... stupid money! Does anyone have a few extra thousand dollars that they would like to "donate to a fellow 3rd gen lover"! lol

I really like that! Other than the paint job on that car, that is how I'm planning to have my car done. Well I might have to do something just to keep it a little different from the rest. I had thought of shaving my door handles, and the radio antena... We'll see. Thanks everyone for helping me out! Great pics and information!

I'll get some progress pics of another being done like that, cause that isnt the kit, its a custom job on the stock rear caps.

If you read up toward the top of this thread, this is what you would have read. And then you wouldn't have to ask where you can find it! Just giving you a hard time! But for me, I'll never see one on my car..... I sold it, and the person is going to pick it up on Sat...... tear.... But there will be another 3rd gen in my future! Oh yes! There Will!!!

I love the stock spolier for convertibles. The high rise types look neat, but not sure if they really match the flat rear deck as well. Maybe the stock spoiler looks more 'stream-lined'.
I think it has to do with the left and right portions of the spoiler that run along the top of the rear 1/4 panels that form a lip at the edge of the trunk. Instead of that downward slope along that edge, you get nice clean lines running all the way back to the spoiler.
For what its worth.....

The reason I'm liking the highrise spoiler on the convertible is because.....if I see a convertible 91 or 92 Camaro in a distance...I Can't tell whether it's a Z28 or an RS. Now....when I see a 91 or 92 hard top/t top from a distance and if I see the highrise on the decklid....that tells me right off that's it's a 91-92 Z28....unless it's a clone of some sort. But...like some people have been saying...it does look just a little to tall for the convertible. So.....if I was going to install one on a convertible....I think it would be cool if you could maybe "shave" it down like an inch....now..that would look really awesome..
