low beam headlights

Someone please tell me that I don't have to take the nose piece off in order to replace the low beams on my IROC. I took a quick glance at it before I went to work today, and it looks like the nose is in front of the screws for it. I am sure that once I get off, I will find that I am wrong... but please someone save me the time and tell me that I am.

You'll have to push the headlight plastic down slightly to access the lower headlight screws. I also taped the lower screws to the screwdriver when reattaching the headlight so they wouldn't fall behind the facia.

Just to warn you, those bottom headlight screws are normally very stubborn. They strip easily.

KDogg is right. No need to take the lower screws out. Just a plain pain in the @!#. Just take the two top ones out, pull it back from the top and out with the light.

Ditto. All you need do is loosen the lower screws, don't back them out all the way. Completely remove the top screws. I hit the screws with a quick shot of WD40 and let them soak for about a minute before I try to loosen them. It's a bit of a pain in the ***, but it works and you can swap lamps.

Speaking of lamps, has anyone tried those golden colored bulbs like they sell at www.autooptiks.com in their fog lamps? I'm thinking of trying a pair to help during wet weather.

Just a note, if you do need to loosen the lower screws, put a cloth between the screwdriver and the plastic so you don't scratch off your paint.
