tell me what you think...

well, as most of us on this board know the quest to finish our cars is never over. well i am very close. i just bought a 145 speedometer, ss hood, and led lights to go beehind my guages . well anyways i am going to paint my car midnight metallic blue and have the guages and dome lights on the inside light up blue. i installed the lights last night and they look great(except i broke my speedometer needle . but thats why i am gettting a new cluster! well anyways when it get's done getting painted i am putting black stripes on it. this should all look pretty good considering that even my cd player(pioneer 840 mp)lights up neon blue too. what do ya'll think?? what about those stripes?? i always see white stripes but i never see black. i love the way they both look. here's a pic of my car:

I was looking at some of those wire looms in a magazine as well, first thing that popped into my mind was "Ouch! Hot!" Have you had any problems with the plug wires getting too hot? I have always tried to route my plug wires as far as possible from the engine, as more heat = less conductivity. Curious to hear how it works for you.

i was very suprised. the wires stay pretty far away from the headers. i have had no problems!! when i ordered them i had no idea they were chevy bowties!! kinda like icing on the cake huh . hey how much do ya'll think a good paint job like that would cost?? i know it's not cheap. i was thinking two-three without stripes. is that reasonable. thanks everyone.

by the way my mccord powerplate just came to my front door:lala: oh yes open headers at the touch of a button. anyways i had to order a new 3 inch cutout cause stupid me thought the powerplate included the cutout . anyway thanks everyone.

I think your car looks very sleek and clean. nice choice of wheels. Those wheels with a midnight metallic blue paint job would be sweet

Well, you asked for an opinion. I like the car as it is. But IF you want to change color, then do it right. Strip it down bare and primer and paint. It should look as if it wre originally pained that color. I hate it when you open the hood or door and see it was originally another color. If you can't afford to do it right, then don't do it.

i agree, i think it looks great now and if you change it make sure it is done right even if it costs more you'll be happier in the long run. i think the black on blue would be cool. not everyone would notice because of the dark colors but alot of people do have white already.

I think it looks mean, I like the looks of the original white Z28s with the factory stripes. The SS hood would be a nice addition, but I would leave it white myself. save the $4000.00 in paint and buy a blue car.
Just my thoughts.
Good luck!

Everything looks good except those Gator floor mats. :nono: I think you should take those out and put in some Tennessee floor mats they would look so much better. Just kidding. Looks good. I don't know if you will be able to see the black stripes in the blue but that is something that you will have to look at before you get it done.

Car looks good, real good. Have you thought about lowering springs? i think that is the only thing I would change. Other than that, great car.

That is the best looking white Z-28 I have seen in a long time. The SS hood should look nice on it.

bigals,
the wire holders(chevy bowties were from summit) they don't say it on the order but they come that way. they are the horizontal wire holders. the catback was done at a local exhaust shop. i could not be happier with the job they did. also i just got my 3inch cutout installed too. wow! it sounds like a big block now! i noticed a slight increase in acceleration. also to answer your last question the ground effects are a dark grey.

just to let all you know i have decided to keep my car white. i don't know what i was thinking with the blue. it would be sweet but i love white!
thanks everyone

Car looks great man :hail: ! That is one of the best lookin Z's I have ever seen.

What widths are the rims, they give it the perfect musclecar stance. :hail: .
