overhead console

is there any way to tell the difference between the overhead console for a hard top car and one for a T-top car ?

I bought one from a guy and am not sure if it will fit in my hard top car. he said when he bought it he was told it was for a T-top car but wouldn't fit his car so he sold it to me as a hard top version, I would like to figure it out before I try to install it.

A t'top overhead console is much flatter than a hard top one. Heres a pic of the differance inbetween the two. This pic was taken by JamesC

Thanks for posting the pic. 84Z, some members have said they've converted the t-top version to the coupe, but given the differences, the best solution would simply to purchase the correct application. Here's the rest of the pics/info from 85s reference:

holy **** i didnt realize that i was tghat different when you look at it from the top!!

for some re4ason mine doesnt look like that at all. there is a dome like, and then 2 buttons to make 2 other lights go on... the one in that link looks way different
