'Vert rear wheel wells.
'Vert rear wheel wells.
Dammit! One side of my trunk ALWAYS got plastered in dirt, dust...everything. I couldn't ever figure out why...
Today I took my rear wheels off, masked everthing off and sprayed the wheel wells, when I realized there is about a 4 inch gash in the wheel well!! I've never seen replacements available on the net...so what can I do? I have a huge tub of Bondo in the garage
Any ideas????

If the actual metal is got a hole in it, you may be able to either
A. Use a hammer and dolly and return it as close to possible to the original shape. Then have it welded closed and paint it.
B. Have a small sheet metal patch panel made and welded over the hole. Then, finish with some body filler and paint.
That's what I would probably have done. If you use only body filler, it will more than likely crack and you will definately have rust form underneath.

It's actually the plastic inside the wheel well....
I was thinking, maybe I could take it down the street from me and have it sprayed with that heavy duty truck liner to fill in the hole?

It doesn't resemble the deflector that you see in the front wells.
It's like a thick thick material...but I'm going to give bondo a try tonight. If that doesn't hold up, I'll go have it sprayed with that truck liner stuff!

You'll probably spend as much in bondo and truck bed liner as what it will cost you to buy a new piece at the dealer. Best of all a new one (or even an undamaged used one) is not gonna look like hammered **** on a white pickett fence like the monstrosity you're suggesting will. No offense. If you're gonna fix it, have some pride and fix it right man, especially when where dealing with a part that doesn't cost much.

Midnight Sun...you mentioned HAWKS as a source for the rear inner wheel well deflector/liner. I suspected these existed but were removed from my son's 92 RS before we got it. What's this HAWKS? please post a link or pm me. Thanks
