I don't want to spend a million dollars on it. Can that strut tower be fixed or should I just write it off as parts?

Ouch! Good crunch...I've seen cars with less damage sent to the bone yard...

with enough money, anything can be fixed. the real question is, would it be worth fixing? i would say probably not.

You could fix it, but it would take a parts car and a good bit of drilling and rewelding spot welds. It all just depends on how bad you want that particular car fixed. In other words how much time and effort you're willing to put into it.
FWIW, I have a friend who's F**d Taurus is a completely different car from the firewall forward. He replaced everything including the strut towers and unibody rails from a parts car. Why anybody would go to that kind of trouble over a Taurus, I'll never know, but it was worth it to him. It just goes to prove that it can be done if you want it bad enough.
Good Luck,
Tony

wow What happened; a tree fall on your car?? That is some bad damage. Unless you know how to cut and weld sheet metal and have an extra car you can splice the front end from, I'd say it's off to the scrap yard. Part it out.

Thanks guys. I actually posted those pictures before I ever bought the car. After seeing it in person I am definitely not going to try fixing it. I did buy it because I want the 700r4 for another car. I will be parting the rest out. It's a shame that it got whacked so hard,(He slid into a mini van) The guy showed me "before" pictures and it was a really nice car. If I didn't have too many projects already, I would try to find a similar car that was missing the parts I have and make me a Frankenstein. Thanks for your advice I appreciate it.
