is it normal to hear wind when your driving?

i have a few questions, i have an 85 t/a with t-tops and i always hear the wind inside the car at like 50mph's and above but i cant feel it or anything so i have no clue where its coming from. its only on the drivers side too. also my car rattles and stuff ALOT, im sure its the t-tops but ill adjust em and then it will go away for like 3-4 days and then come back. and last thing, my t-tops dont leak at all except on the passenger side, and its not really the t-tops, the top of the passenger side window right in the middle will like drip down if i accelerate or brake or if i hit a bump. i cant figure out where its leaking and i dont know how to fix it? can anybody help me out? or will i just have to learn to live with it? thanks alot

I live with it.. and you know what? IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! I want my car sealed up like a friggen airplane. I want it to be pressurised if at all possible.. ZERO wind noise, but that seems to be what you get when you have t-tops.

ARGH

I seen some weatherstripping that looked like they added a second peice on the edge of the t-top itself, as in, on the glass or something. Maybe that would cut down on wind noise.. hmm.

I hate the wind noise, but I'm used to it. Hopefully when I get new weatherstripping, it will quiet down a little.

That is exactly why I wish that my Formula was a hard top. Mine leaks like jocww's does! Gotta replace them seals. Now I gotta replace the t-top divider now too. It rusted out and I get a leak in the middle of my roof console now too! Good thing the car never sees rain anymore Still gonna replace them though.

I get no wind from my T-Tops. Everything I get comes in through the driver side window sweep. I'll get around to fixing that someday.

i noticed that some wind noises occur at the weird looking seal at the front part of the door. Just pull it out and replace it with a new one.

subframe connectors will stop some of the noise but best of all it will help on the deteriation side of those wearing body parts. My car since I added sfcs has helped with cutting down on some of the noise. The car feels tighter also.

could you tell a little more? like the weather stripping that goes from the front of the door, under it, and then to the back of it? also where do i get the subframe connectors? how expensive and hard to install are they? and are they worth it? thanks

You probably need to adjust your window. Its not going up high enough.remove your door panels so you can adjust the stops which will allow your windows to go up further.Theres one stop for the front & rear part of the glass. Some manuals(like haynes/chilton)have a section for this procedure.

Its in the area in the front of the door where the window angle down. Its a skinny and stiff vertical (plastic like piece) that the window will seat against. Right next to the triangle like plastic piece near the front of the door.

attn: Bad-TA-05 Lots of info is on this site concerning subframe connectors. Everone says that it is the best mod that they will ever do to a 3rd gen car. Helps stop twist and makes vital parts last much longer. They are not hard to install, but if you need help with a little info. any muffler shop could probably do it for you. Too much to add in one post. It would pay you to read up on it, do it and reap the rewards.
