Body number change (pls help)
Hi Guy,
I am live in Taiwan and need your help.
I need to change the body number under the front glass, is there any one and done it before, what should I noted??
I found a car from junkyard with very good condition, my old car is like ****, so it is easy change the body nubmer only to pass the check of goverment.
Thanks
Joe

The vin number is in 5 or six other places. on the edge of the doors. Not every inspector checks on the dash.

I wouldn't worry about the VIN numbers on the body panels, since alot of body shops replace entire components like doors and such, if anybody asks, just tell them the door or whatever was replaced. The one under the windwhield is the one to worry about. You can drill out the rivets to remove the old one and rivet the new one in place, but the kicker is that you'll have to remove the windshield.
