Hit a Tree threed again

they closed the thred. Well the guy with the berli isnt selling it anymore, so I have to drive this car for a while longer. My question is , IS there anyway possible that you think I might be able to get a door or something on there that looks better to where I can drive it for longer?? the door doesnt have to work, just fix that huge dent that is showing. will a door go in the hole where the floor is messed up. to me it looks like it does but I dont know there might be something else stoping it.

I really don't think that a new door would even fit on there. The only way you are going to get that thing fixed is take it to a body shop, there isn't any way around it.

Have you gotten a 20lb sledge hammer on that yet? Beat it pretty straight and slap a j/y door on there. Sure it wont be pretty but it will look better, considering if everything is done correctly.

Give up man, it's totally not worth it if you're not experienced at body work. Live without a car for a little while, save up some cash, and get another Camaro. If you can, get a Z28 or IROC. Berlinettas just don't quite cut it (opinion).

You'll thank us later!

I'd say give up, not worth the time and effort.

a come a long and a tree, a slide hammer with some dent pulling equipment, a chain and another vehicle will work good to.

That impact has ruined the car really... it's probably pulled the front and back of the car towards the impact area. You'll never get it pulled out or hammered out to what it should be.

Read his post guys, he just wants to drive it for a while, in the other thread he stated that he is broke.

I personally dont know what you can do to temporarly fix or make it look better, but im sure others here do.

The best thing you can do is take a sledge hammer to it and pound it out as much as you can. Make it look straighter, but it will never be the same again.

For a temp fix only, alot of hamming, heat, pulling with come-a-long. Then bolt on a new door, then do tad more hammering.

Will leak alot, blow air alot, wear out tires.

Hammering it out as a half assed fix is making that a death trap on wheels.

I'd love for you (or someone who does the same thing) to hit me if your car was like that.

Hello lawsuit.

Seriously that car is a complete loss, just give it up. And have some of you people that are suggestingn using a come along to pull that out actually tried to do that? I did years ago on a vehicle I wrecked and I couldn't budge it to save my life, that metal is stronger than you think, especially after its already been somewhat worked hardened after being bent like that. I really doubt you are even going to be able to half *** fix that yourself to bolt a door back on.

Listen, DON'T DRIVE THE CAR! Whether or not the car runs fine is besides the point. You have three problems on your hands, all of which will destroy you in the short and/or long-term. The first and obvious: the car is wrecked. Driving it will probably weaken existing working parts. The frame is bent, and since you don't have money, you're not going to be able to fix it up to a safe level. Which brings me to the Second problem: *** forbid you drive that car around and manage to slide your a$$ into another tree or whathaveyou; the car will crumble like a folding chair and you will find yourself severly hurt or perhaps dead. And if you're lucky enough to walk away, but you end up in an accident with someone else, your Third problem, like 12 Sec GTA mentioned, is you will find yourself on the business end of a costly and losing lawsuit.

I had the same exact thoughts as you when my first Camaro got sideswiped and bent the frame. But the bottom line is it's Just a Car! When you have another Camaro in the future, and you have all working parts to be able to swap in from a parts car, you'll be far more satisfied in the long run.

Junk it dude. Just save yourself the pain. Take out the interior, whatever has some value on e-bay or swap meets and count your losses.

If your broke, then you shouldn't of even owned a car to begin with. This kinda stuff happens.
