Happen to know if your Speedo is cable driven?
From what i know most 85-89 are cable driven (dont quote me) as for the dummy lights im not 100% sure but i dont see a reason why the tach wouldnt work and such....for the dummy lights on gas and temp and stuff...how do you knwo when you need gas?

the only issue is with the dummy lights, both the 85 and his 87 are cable driven, and 82-89 gauge clusters can be swapped. if you read the tech article on swapping in an iroc cluster, it says you need to take out the dummy light sending units for ones made for gauges. then you should be all set.

that gauge makes more sense.....I can vouche for the oil sending unit..that is easy to replace you got to buy a special socket for it cause its a bitch to try to get off with a normal deepwell or cresent wrench.. but the oil sending unit is a breeze.

Its an easy swap I went from idiots to actual gauges. All you have to replace are the oil, and tempature switches to sending units. That should only take 10 mins to swap out. The cluster will be a direct bolt in. Your new cluster should have a 60 PSI oil guage, a V6 uses an 80 PSI gauge.

No problem
The only hard part about the swap will be releasing the speedo cable, such a pita unless you get on your back with a foot long extension bar and press the release tab. Other than that the whole project should take less than an hour.

I don't mean to be a pita but...When I did a similar swap in my 84 Firebird I had to re-wire the dash
! I don't know if it is the same in Camaros. The easiest way to see is pull the old cluster and match up the board with the new one. I hope, for your sake, it's a direct swap.
