Changed interior colors on the Formula today. :)

I have to say that light grey is one of the worst colors for an interior. Get dirty way too easy and just doesn't look good to me.
So I decided to change it to black like I did with my 86 Trans Am.

I did all the panels today and I'll probably spray paint the carpet with fabric paint since it looked good on the T/A.
Here are a few pics during the swap,

Oh, when I swapped tail lights the other day, I found this in the spare tire well,

One day I'll swap the grey dash with my black one that came out of the Trans Am.

So did you do the work outside or in the garage

Vice grips are a nice touch, I usually find a stick or something, but that's not quite as easy to find as vice grips

I did it in the driveway last night after the rain stopped.
The weather has been really sucking on the weekends.
Vice grips also work when the hood struts are bad.

I'll be swapping the drivers side door today, might do the pass side one as well.

Gotta love a red Formula with a red interior.

Not that I'm biased.

Wanna swap my plastics for yours?
All the grey pieces are in very good condition.
Maybe even swap carpets, but I may just paint mine.

Thanks.
One of our local board members is parting out a red 89 Formula so I was getting the doors from him and when I saw that they had black door panels, I asked if the plastic trim was available. So I got all that and now it looks much better, to me at least.
One day I'll put the black dash in since I don't really like the grey dash.
Tomorrow I'll be changing out the steering column with the one from the 89. The steering lock and high beam switch don't work on my 88.

Just paint it black, should be no problem since that is a part that doesn't get touched much so you shouldn't have to worry about the paint chipping or scraping off.

I do video production and photography. I don't make much money, but I do have lots of spare time. If I made a lot of money, my Trans Am would have been done a long time ago.

Nice Zepher. Of course now, with your attention turned towards the new "victim", the TA is getting lonely isn't it?

Let me know if anyone you know needs a good 700 from a IROC for cheap. Need it out of the way shortly. I can possibly deliver to Hampton Roads area too...

As for the GTA molded door panels...YES..they do look good on a Camaro. I just scored a set to match my tan interior, just need to redo the small cloth inserts on 'em.

And Zepher, there was a pair of NICE molded GTA type door panels on a '89 Trans Am that was in one of my local junkyards...they were black. If you're interested, let me know.

The T/A will start to be worked on as soon as I change the steering column in the Formula. The steering lock is not working as well as the high beam switch, so I got another column from an 89 (same one that all the panels came from) to replace the one in the formula.

I am interested in those door panels. PM me and let me know how much they run.
