4th gen forums?

Hey guys, Just got myself a 4th gen firebird dash. Anyone know of any forums like this for 4th gens? I'm specifically looking for pics of a custom gauge install, as i don't have the stock cluster.

Thanks

Sad part is, you probably wont get what your looking for from any of those forums.

What exactly are you trying to do? Is it that you dont have the 4th gen cluster?

yea that's exactly it. I was thinking about making up a custom panel and using some aftermarket gauges, but before i start dishing out cash, i wanted to see some different ideas and styles that have been done

What parts are you missign exactly? do you have the little plastic bezel cover (the black/grey peice that bolts into the dash?

If so you could just fab up a pecie to bolt in behind that and have your guages mount into it.

As for peopel with 4th gens who have done that.....eh i havnt seen one on any of the forums myself, and i used to post at cz28 alot back in the day (coupel yrs ago) but still post at ls1 alot.......

Best bet, pick up a real cluster, or fab up a plate! hell you could buy a white faced kit and model your plate after that.

But the 4th gen cluster kinda snaps into place itself, youll have to drill the mountig for your plate yourself and clearance it with the bezel.

Luckly i got my guage cluster with the dash and console.

well I got the dash and that's about it. I'm going to pick up the bezel for the gauges when my car fund starts filling up again. Picking up a stock cluster is another option. Only thing is I've heard people say that factory gauges are way off alot of the time. When i look at the gauges, I want to know exactly what my car is up to, not what it 'might' or 'could' be doing.

If your scrapping for money, then you can pick up a stock cluster for a hundred to hundred fifty off ebay.

But aftermarket will take a making of a whole new cluster, and making sure all the guages will fit in that small of a space........

Too bod they dont make a pre made cluster for that (but then again thiers not a market for it..yet).
