hawk's new notchback
as a lot of you already know, bruce at hawks third gen parts might be reproducing a notchback that is very close to the original. for some of you who might not frequent the appearance/detailing forum, we are very close to getting it done. we only need a couple more deposits and we should have this thing rolling. if you haven't seen it yet, check it out here https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...5&pagenumber=2 there is all the information you need.
to the mods, i know this already has a sticky in appearance/detailing, but not everyone frequents that section of the board, and i think this is more of a body/interior topic than appearance/detailing. we are very close to getting this thing started, and i think we just need to show people how close we are to get them to jump aboard.

Bruce has the mold finished now, and just has a few minor details to take care of. He hopes to be shipping the first notches after Christmas. I'll post pics later of the first one out of the mold. Right now, the plan is to offer it with a lexan/plexi rear window with an installation kit (a rubber weatherstrip and adhesive), or with no rear window for those who want to have a glass window installed. If anyone wants to order one, give Bruce a call at 864-855-2694. Thanks!

I'm not really that fond of the notchback look...but i'm interested nonetheless. I remember the Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe's were a few tenths faster than the run of the mill Monte Carlo SS's, and i can only assume that it was either due to increased traction (due to the weight of the glass on the rear) or better aerodynamics. I guess my continued interest would depend on how much less the notch weighs, the difference in fuel economy, and most importantly to me, the effect it has on the drag strip. Does anybody have any comparisons or statistics?
