91-92 Camaro wheel in '87

I did a search and found no results.

Just to make sure, will a 91-92 Camaro wheel fit in an older Camaro, say '87, w/o modifications?

I assume that all I'll have to do is remove the old one and install the new one. No, I don't want the AIRBAG feature.

This wheel:

It should fit just fine. Just be sure to leave the airbag in there or fill the hole with something so the cover doesn't sink in and look like crap.

You might be the first person in the history of the world to prefer the appearance of that breadbox wheel over the non-airbag style.

I used to have it in my '92 RS. I dunno, it is bigger, but something about it - It makes the car look 'newer' to me. Besides, my factory IROC wheel looks like someone brush-painted it with black paint. It looks bad IMO.

I drove my old RS about a year ago - It was for sale at a dealer near me - I was able to verify it was my old one - Anyway...

The wheel grip felt like it was coming off of the actual steel wheel underneath it. You could "twist" the grip. Anyone else's do that?

I understand that a 91-92 Z28 wheel was leather wrapped, but I can't find one for cheap.

I'm glad mine hasn't done that. 12 years in the AZ sun and it still looks great.

I'd like the 91-92 steering wheel alot better than the one in my old 88, I thought it looked old and cheesy along with the dash gauges, just me though

i wouldnt even try it.

the stock bags in 3rdgen are the 1st gen bags.... i think 4thgens have the later designed "softer" airbags

in anycase, i would NOT attempt that.... for all we know, the little current that "tests" our stock bags may blow the 4thgen ones... sounds like a very bad idea to me.

just wear your seatbelt correctly.
