What did you use to close the holes that were left after taking the spoiler off? and also how well did it turn out, please post pics if possible.
I removed mine, but I'm going to put it back on. But I have to plug some holes in my door from taking the ground fx filler off. The door was from a Trans Am and I need to put my Z28 filler piece on. Most holes line up but there are a few that are much ligher on the door that need to be filled.
I was going to MIG weld a patch and use body filler, but I don't think I have the skill to do it without burning thru. I will probably take the patch and use panel adhesive on the inside of the door and fill the depression with body filler before repainting the door.
Those are the only 2 options I have.

I took the spoiler off and did the body work thing. I've never done body work before and it came out beautifully. I had to pound in the holes with a tapered broom handle to create larger fill area with the bondo/resin mixture. I put tape on the inside of the holes to help with the bondo filling. I'll post some pics a little later.

A metal patch welded in is the best thing to do. Make it flush and just bondo the little area.
In a year or so you'll wish you didnt fill it in with bondo, it has a high possiblity of cracking out, and after some time bondo shrinks some.

The bondo/fiberglass resin mix I used is alot stronger than bondo by itself. That's true on the welding thing but I don't have a welder and am much too busy to have someone else do it for me. I forgot to post the pictures. I'll post them once I get home from work.

Thanks, it turned out pretty well for a first timer in body work. Maybe I should start my own business....NOT!!

Okay thanks for all the help guys, those pics are of the taped back and the bondo + fiberglass resin? if so very nice work. What I think I'll end up going with is MIG welding a piece of steel on the back and then fill it with bondo.
