Buildsheet locations?
I didn't know were to post this, so the "Interior" part of the title looked good
Anyway... I have an '83 Z28 and I've been looking for my build sheet since I got the car, with no luck. I've heard of people finding it in a few places in '83s, like under the plastic panel beside the rear seats, inside the seats (F and R), etc etc...
I've looked in all the places other people have found it, with no luck. And the '83 cars had no RPO sticker in the console, and thats why i'm going nuts trying to find it, lol
Any suggestions? Were have you guys found build sheets?

I have stripped two 83's and found one under the carpet in the drivers footwell (under the pedals) and the other was under the carpet in the rear passenger compartment footwell on the drivers side (if you were sitting behind the driver where your foot would be) like previously mentioned.

I haven't found mine either. I have even checked in the seats. However I am ripping out my interior this week to replace my carpet.
So hopefully I can find the thing.

I pulled the carpet out of the rear deck of one and found it there. I haven't done the same to mine yet. I will replace my carpet next year though. I hope it is under there.

i didn't find one in either of my camaros.. i had a 91' and an 84' swaped the interior in both of them and all i found was a small screw driver in the truck well of the 84'...
Mine was inside my door. Pull the door panel off and look inside the door skins. Mine was on the passenger's side.
Also, if you're not the first owner, someone may have pulled it already, keep in mind.

My interior is out.
Everything down to bare metal. And I didnt find a build sheet. Is there a reason I dont have one in my car?
It really doesnt make sense, because my family is the second owner, and the first owner only had it for 2 years.
And I am the first person who has attempted a restore.
So why dont I have a buildsheet?

I have heard of them in weirder places than that. Someone on here found one under his hood insulation. In the seats, behind door panels. Behind the rear cargo plastic.
And as said before. It may have been found easily by someone at the dealership or by the original owner. It may be gone now. Some people even original owners never find theirs either. So you may simply not have gotten one.

I never found one in mine either - and I've replaced the carpet, seats, trunk paneling and doorpanels - looking everywhere. I did not look under the hood insulation before pitching the hood though...
I also do not think any of the two previous owners had any of those things out and took it either. But who knows what Choo Choo may have done when they chopped the car.
