Just wanted to find out how you actually change them. I see the phillips head screws, but I don't see how you can get a screwdriver in such an acward spot??

If you are just replacing the blade, there should be a squeeze clip at one end of the blade.

If you are replacing the blade + carrier (metal piece), there is a retainer. Instructions should be on the back of the new wiper blade carton.

Haha she means the side window outer seals.

Best thing to do is remove the window regulator and let the window drop down a bit, at this point you've already got the door panel and top trim off, you should be able to get at em just fine, also unbolt the window felts under the top trim.

The way I changed mine was to roll the window completely down, mark and unbolt the both window felts, and remove the screws I could easily get to with the screw driver, for the ones that I could not get to I used a screwdriver bit and a quarter inch wrench. The way I used the bit was to insert it into the screw head, press the glass against it to hold it in, and then turned the bit with a quarter inch wrench. Once the old one was out I installed the new one in the reverse order and realigned the felts according to the marks. Took 45 minutes to do both sides which included changing the triangle seals.

Now it makes sense.

And, BTW Craftsman makes a phillips head screwdriver that has a 90 degree bend to it. Could look into one of those.

Too tall to get in there at them. Just take off the door panel, lower the window all the way and use a long #2 phillips screwdriver. It is at a bit of an angle but it will get to the screws.

Thanks for all your help guys! I figured alot of it out on my own. The window wipe screws are posi-drive not phillips. Like the master tech that I am I had a few posis hanging around! LOL It was pretty easy. I did not have to drop the window, just move dthe felt guides. I didn;t have to adjust my window any.the worst part was trying to put the screws back in! Again Thanks Guys! I can always count on my third gen buds to respond quickly and proficiently.:lala:

Correct term for the weatherstrip is "outer belt weatherstrip", by the way.

Yep, depends on the year of the door. I've only seen Phillips-head (84) and 7mm bolt heads (86). I haven't seen posi-drive screws. Posi-drive is just two slots at right-angles, correct? There's no "depression" where the angles meet in the center (which would render a phillips' head screwdriver useless on a posi-drive screw)?

If you have to move one of the felt guides, be sure to grab a scribe or an awl and trace around the edge of the guide as it lays against the top of the door frame. This allows you to put it back exactly as it was.

A posi-drive has more of a rounded tip. A posi- drive screw does have a depression because the tip of the driver is more pronounced. A phillips ressesion is shallow and narrow.
