COOL Interior Mods For CAMARO ......Are There Any?
92 Camaro RS Convertible
305 TBI
Was just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of any interesting or cool mods to the interior of the Camaro? Links to pictures or websites would be helpful.
After all, Trans Am had it's "KIT" or Knight Rider conversion (which was probably only cool in the 80s), and I have seen some other innovative conversions, most notably for the Fiero.
I know that there must be a lot more neat stuff happening out there for our cars than just drive trains, and i cannot help but feel that i am missing out.
Thanks,
Steve

K1 (Euroworks) makes an interior kit that will bolt in and use the stock guage cluster. I have also seen a Viper interior kit that will bolt in. But my favorite of all time would have to be the 4th gen F-Body interior retrofit. Do a search on '4th gen interior'.

How about more light? I painted the backside of the cluster bezel arctic white, then installed some 194 high-intensity xenon bulbs from McEwen.

A flash of color? I painted the outside of the bezel to match my car.

The best interior mod I have seen is stripping a fourth gen and putting it into your car. It looks really cool when done right and from what I have heard....not too difficult...
Heck, just start out with some 4th gen seats, that'll start you off.Lc

I built the kick panels a couple years ago. I need to redo them because right now there isn't enough airspace behind the mids to sound right. It's very thick and nasal sounding. I need to make a mold of that shape, and then use that mold to make a hollow version of what I have.
Anyway, I have pics at:
http://iroc.fbody.com/kickpanel1.jpg through kickpanel11.jpg
You have to copy & paste the urls into your browser to see them
if you do a search, you should come up with a thread I posted a couple years ago that gave a step-by-step explanation of what I did.

The TV/DVD Combo is pretty sweet. That is not really the direction that I am interested in going, but cool and well executed none the less. Plus I have a convertible and why tempt fate?
Painting the gauage bezel body color is a different approach, but with a white car and a red leather interior, I think it would look wierd. That should definitely stay a dark color.
I like the white gauge face ideas, or one of the many variations on that theme. I have read that damaging your gauges or the needles is not too hard to do with that mod. I would hate to mess up my instrument panel. I know .... no ventured, nothing gained. If anyone has any experience with installing this mod i would be interested in hearing the pros and cons of it.
Thanks,
Steve

I installed Macewen's white face gauges. I decided to remove the cluster from the dash and do it on the work bench. It was a complete piece of cake and took very little time. I never came close to messing up a needle.

Macewen's white face gauges
I checked out the web site (although I was redirected like 3 times) for Macewen's white face gauges.Very interesting and informative. I read the installation instructions and understand the process better. I also agree taking the cluster out is the best way to insure a clean and safe install.
I was under the mistaken impression that they were stickers or decals.
Did you change the lightbulbs in your instrument cluster when you did the overlays? I am curious what effects the LEDs or different color bulbs will have on visibilty and aesthetics.
A last point to throw out there? Are all overlays created the same? I noticed a wide range of prices $25 - $99 and even higher. Are they are all printed on copiers or printers using photograde paper?
Any other insights would be appreciated!
PS is pulling the gauge cluster or reinstalling it particularly difficult?
Thanks,
Steve

I really like how your dvd screen turned out, just one question. Any issues with glare? I know everytime I have my laptop in the car is nearly impossible to see the screen, And when the t-tops are off I cant see anything inside the car like the radio.

The Euroworks and viper interiors look like SH*T!!! White face gauges dont look all that good because the rest of the dash is black so it stands out way to much. Gotta love the stock 145 mph gauges! But i agree that there is i lighting problem (too dim). So a brighter bulb replacement would be a good idea.

Reverse Indiglo vs. White Gauge Face Overlays
Reverse Indiglo Overlays
Are these the same as the white gauge face overlays? What effect will the blue bulbs or white LEDs have on either of these kits? Obviously having red bulbs may not be the best idea especially if the needles virtually disappear!!!
Anyone know who sells the reverse indiglo kits?
Thanks,
Steve
