GTA headlight Vacuum

I just bought a GTA and the headlights dont work. The previous owner told me he was having trouble with only one headlight coming up so he disconnected the motors, proped up the headlights, and removed all the vaccuum lines going to the engine.

So how can I fix this, where can I find a diagram that shows the vaccuum and electrical. Any help will be appreciated.

There is a diagram for the vacum lines under the hood. There is an emission control routing diagram there.

As far as electrical the headlight connections will be the only lose plug wires there.

I copied this from an 89 TPI Camaro's hood emissions tag...

The headlights are lifted via electric motors...

He must have told you wrong. If, when you plug the motor back up to electricity, it still doesn't work, try wiggling the whole headlight housing a little. I had to do that with my Drivers side light when it would start acting up.

Nope, no 'old school' vacuum actuated flip up lights on these cars. If you look at the above pic, you can see the harness plug (it's grey)that goes to the headlight motor.

If he disconnected the motors, most likely the bushing have went to s--t like they all do so the easiest solution is to disconnect the motor and prop them up.

Here's a diagram for the motors wiring.. http://www.deadbird.org/tech/head.gif

And here is the major cause for the lights to not flip[ up properly anymore (bushings turn to crap)...

Hehe, both my head lights were like that dead bird. It wasn't much of a chore to fix them. I did end up snapping the head of one of the plastic bolts though. had to drill it out and put one of the gratefully supplied metal bolts in to replace it.

Plastic bolts? What the hell was GM thinking?
