blame the wood on ruining your headlight to so maybe you can get that fixed as well. i am sure insurance will cover that either from the truck or yours. i hope all works out and sorry to hear your misfourtune.

my headlights worked perfectly b4, the left one got stuck since the bumper is out of whack now. i gave it some help and then it went down now.
unless im mistaken this would be under comprehensive insurance, unfortunately i have a high deductable so i dont think im even gonna claim it, prob just try and fix myself.

How high is your deductable? When I clipped a deer(only cosmetic damage) with my '92 the damage was similar, new bumper, hood, and a fender. Including labor and Paint they cut me a check for $2800. Figure $500 of that was the fender so you should get around $2300. If you deducable is anywhere near that you really should just drop the coverage.

My wife hit something that fell off a truck the other day. The insurance company said it was her fault since it hit the ground first, so we have to pay the $500 deductible. If it haddn't we wouldn't of had to pay anything.
She said it was a pipe or something. Hit it at 65 MPH in the middle of traffic, took out 3 rims and tires, Trans pan, CV axel, Windshield, Pass side door and mirror, and bumper in her 97 Maxima. At least, that's what they think it did, lol.

my comprehensive is $1k. yeah i was trying to save money i guess i figured "it wont happen to me".
i just called the insurance they said i would have to pay the $1k.
i am wondering how much my insurance would increase if i make the claim? its not like it was my fault! then i could do the work maybe and get the check?
Wilburwm - i also noticed some red fluid leaking underneath. must be those boards killed my transmission too!!

ouch that sucks. I hate those damn dump trucks too that are always droppin rocks and dirt all over the freeway. The sound of rocks hitting my car as im behind a truck always drives me nuts.
Comprehensive Claims shoudln't raise your insurance rates at all. Mine didn't go up when I hit the deer at all. Just watch out because if you have too many comp claims they will drop you.
That sucks, the trucks are like that around here too. Always dropping stuff, and not covering the trailers either
At least the repair shouldn't be to hard for you.

wow, why is everyones deductible so high???
I don't know if you guys are any older than me, or how many tickets you've gotten, but I only pay $100 deductible. It was $5 bucks less for 500 deductible. So what choice would you guys make???
"ticket free" and just because I said that I'll get nailed to the cross when I do get one lol.

just called insurance again, youre right, my premium wont raise from a comprehensive claim, but it will look unfavorable if i have many of them if i ever shop for insurance again.
im going to get an estimate and see how much damage the dealer thinks it is. then the appraiser has to come look at it for anything more than 500 bucks.
hopefully what i get minus my deductable will pay for me to fix it.

That's the way I worked out the damage on my '96 S-10 SS pickup. I got the required estimates, then told the insurance adjuster that I would be fixing the damage myself in an auto body class that I had always wanted to take.
The adjuster then gave me the "half cash" option, which is half of the lowest estimate, minus the deductable. Once the work is done, I could bring it back for the other "half" as long as it passed their inspection. Took the check, signed up for the "adult learning" night class, and fixed my truck for the grade...
I ended up passing the insurance inspection and put $1700 into my pocket legally and got some body work experience along with it. Now, if only the T.A. would suffer some damage, I could take the advanced body/paint class...
