4th Gen wheel adapters

I bought a set of wheel adapters a couple months back for putting 4th gen wheels on 3rd gen cars, on the description it says adapters + nuts, well he sent me sum nuts but what they were for I have no clue. The lugnuts that sent me (besides being the wrong thread size) will hit the wheels when screwed onto the spacer becuase of their mag style end, I think I need an open end style lug nut (like shown in pic) but I can not find these nuts anywhere to buy, if anyone knows where I can buy them please tell me becuase I've been everywhere around here that I can think of and no1 has anything... Thanks

I had the same problem when I got mine. I took the spacer with me to Autozone, and got the lugnuts I needed. On the front spacers, I used the existing lugs to bolt to the hub because the spacers were deep enough to clear the wheel. On the rear, I used the open lug nuts that I got from Autozone. The hubs are a metric thread, and my spacers were SAE thread.

I was doing more research on my wheel adapters and I seen sumthing about that vettebrakes company so I went here and looked at their pic of their adapters and lugnuts and it looks just like mine, I really dont see how the wheel is supposed to stay on there becuase the back of it will hit the top of the acorn lugnuts.... but I did go into auto zone and looked at the lugnuts that they had on the shelf and all I seen was locking nuts for p.o.s tuners, I am going back again 2morrow to see if I can buy sum open end lugnuts with a shank, also do you know how much you paid for your nuts at the zone???

sorry fogot to post the pic of what those adapters look like with those acorn nuts (still dont see how it could ever work) and I for damn sure know it wont work with my wheels becuase the backs of them sit on top of the nuts instead of flush with the spacer

We include short, open ended lugnuts with our wheel adapters so they won't interfere. They have an M12x1.5 thread pattern and the standard conical seat, which centers the adapter much better than the shank & washer seat. If those adapters do use the shank & washer style, you can knock off the "cap" of the lugnut, which should just be sheet metal joined to the main lugnut. Try using a hammer & chisel, or a hacksaw. That would shorten the package w/o affecting strength of the lugnut. Other options would be to machine the cavity between the lugnut holes in the wheels a bit larger, to make room for that lugnut, or machine the adapters so the lugnut sits deeper (be careful not to go too thin, and weaken the adapter), or purchase shorter lugnuts. Where did you get them from? The seller should be able to easily take care of that for you. Good luck!

I went to Auto Zone 2night to try to find the right nut as one of the other guys told me, and they did not have what i needed either, the only ones they had looked just like what I had. I bought the adapters used off of ebay from a guy and I cant get back ahold of him about this. But askulte do you sell just your lugnuts, I have seen the product and I know that's exactly what i need if so please get me a price....

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

This sucks so incredibly bad to have a brand new set of 4th gen T/A wheels sitting in my garage collecting dust just becuase I cant find a set of open end style lugnuts with about a half in shank to reach into the spacer to get the studs.... If anyone could please help in any way of finding these please do, I am so fed up with these adapters...

I don't know why you are having such a hard time finding the lug nuts for your adapters. What is the thickness of the adapters? Most auto parts stores should have the open lug nuts that will work with your adapters. Your Autozone people must be lazy or incompentent.

In my case my front adapters are 2.25 inches and I used my original acorn type lug nuts to attach the adapter, the rear are 1.75 and were to thin for the regular original lug nut to work. I took a sample of the lug nut and my rear adapterto my local Autozone, told them I wanted an open lug with the same size flair as the original lugs . Ten minutes later, I was out of there and putting on my adapters.

88Formula,
Do you need the acorn style lugnuts (like factory) or the shank (mag style, with washer) lugnuts? If it's the shank style, what length do they need to be? We use the acorn-conical seat style only with our adapters, but do have some spare shank lugnuts just in case. If your local Auto-Zombies are incompetent, try a Napa or a mom&pop parts store. They usually have better, hard-core employees that aren't just McDonalds burger flipper clerks, and might be able to think on their own (no offense to those of ya that work at a chain, and are experienced and care about your customers).

I need the open end style lug nut with about a half inch or so shank that extends into the adapter to reach my studs on my car becuase they arent long enough to reach through the adapter, when I went to Auto Zone I went to the back with him and looked at every single lug nut that they had to offer and everyone with the shank that I needed had the acorn nut on it. And I went to napa before I even tried auto zone and they had the same exact things.

Would it be possible to modify those lugs to work?

When you know exactly what you want, but find that it doesn't exist, sometimes you have to make it yourself.

can anyone tell me exactly what the offset needed is to put the ws6 wheels on my '85. a friend of mine has a set of polished ws6 rims that he'll sell me for 300 dollars, and my uncle works at a machine shop, and can have a set of spacers cnc'd for me if i know how thick they need to be.
thanx in advance.
