i'm looking for a hood for my 85 z 28 the jy tells me they have an 84 in the yard i can look at. are the hoods the same fit? i have seen most parts start at 85 - 91 and 82-84. so what do you think is this hood worth looking at? somtimes the diffrence can be to suttle for the eye to pick up till you fit it.

The hood will fit. All the camaro hoods are interchangable. I had to get a new hood when I bought my car and just got an Iroc hood from the junkyard. Have fun!

The 84' hood will fit, but it looks different. If it is a Z28, then it will have indentations in the hood that are a similar shape to your hood louvers, but a little narrower. If it is a non-Z28, then it will be a flat hood like every non-Z28 hood from 82'-92'. If you want the same hood, any Z28 or IROC hood from 85'-92' will work.

Note: The 91'-92' Z28 hood is the same as the 85'-90' hood, but has raised bumps instead of louvers. The hood itself is the same though.

Yeah, it will work. Here's an 83 factory fiberglass hood on my 87 IROC.

heres what an 84 hood will look like it doesnt have the blisters or the louvers just two indents for the decals and two plates at the rear that bolt to the hood.
