complete gallery of before and after pics
Hey guys
I remember that a while back, alot of you had shown interest in seeing a thirdgen, or any project car for that matter, come back to life. I went through and designed a webpage, and then loaded 95% of my pictures up to it. For those of you who don't know, it's a 1987 IROC that I had purchased after it was wrecked. It didn't run, and the front was mangled pretty good.
Alot of the details are on the page, let me know what you think
My new webpage
EDIT: This is my first attempt at any real kind of HTML editing, so any tips or tricks would be welcome

The "real" paintjob probably wont be for a few years. I gotta wait until I graduate and start making some cash
I'm gonna make a makeshift booth in the spring though, and spray it with some rustoleum semigloss black. That should protect the metal and keep it looking decent for as long as I need it to.

ahhh....memories.....
very nice. i can definately appreciate all the hard work you're putting into the car although i'm not feelin the hood or rear spoiler..... also, that overspray is gonna be hell to get off the dash.....i know this from experience
i just read your last post. if you're already making a makeshift booth, why not just go get some base and clear and spray that instead of the rustoleum? it's not that expensive if you do it yourself. hell, you could even just get some single stage urethane or something. it's even cheaper and would look a helluva lot getter than a rattlecan paint job IMO.

Thanks
I like the hood, and the fact that it's light as hell, but I'm not so sure about the spoiler either. I think I'm gonna start looking for the 91-92 Z28 high-rise one.
For the paint, I was thinking about picking up a couple gallons of rustoleum and thinning it out so I can spray it with a gun. How do you think that would look?

rusroleum looks like hell no matter what youdo to it. my neighbor tried to do that same thing to a truck and it looked like butt regardless of how much effort he put into it. you should look into epoxy primer in black if you want to go that route epoxy primer can withstand the elements better than regular primer and looks nicer after some sun exposure then when you go to get paint next time you just scuff sand primer and paint it rather than having to sand the rustoleum totally off

thanks for the heads up badandy. I'll look into the epoxy primer instead of rustoleum.
The oxygen tank is still almost full, we just don't have a stand for it yet. We feel safer laying it down until then

Yep, dual 2.5". It clears everything without problem, but it does hang kind of low in the front. There isn't any physical constraint, it was just an error in my design. One of these days I'll trim a few inches off the pipe and suck it back up. After I do that I'll take some on car pics and post them.

Mann, That looks like my car last fall, Some dumba$$ ran mine into a ditch @ 100mph. I drove it home with no nose, hood fenders or headlights. Within 3 weeks it looked like a Camaro again. 6 weeks the body and lights were complete, And in 8 weeks all the suspension was done and I started driving it. Then spring break she got a paint job, And end of summer I did the motor swap. Now I've made a $200 car into one that people have offered me $4000 + for! Great Work man, Glad to see someone else sees potential in wrecked cars too!

It was a guy who was 16, Just got his lisence, Thought the car was the fastest thing in the world (LG4 then, I dont think so) Lost it going aound a 40 mph corner @ almost 100 And crumpled the front and end bent the rear axel. Only "Before" pictures I have are with the fender and nose bolted on and primed and the hatch on. I dont have any when I firs got it. But the headlights are still missing and alignment is still off in the pictures, I'll see If I can get em scanned up!

Thanks DDN69, I've been told before that it takes a special kind of patience to do all the tedious crap that gives you nothing but trouble

Just updated my site again. I got pics of my old 85 Z28, my old supercharged 92 RS, my old wrecked 81 Camaro, and my old 2001 Pontiac TA. I also have a few pics of my beater up there, but you guys probably would care about that one
