A little help first though- since you have an 89, the black bezel that surrounds the gauges is what actually reflects the light onto the gauges. Stock, the back of it is painted a very light blue. If you really want the light to be green, I would recommend either getting green 194 bulbs and repainting the back of the bezel white or keeping the clear 194s and painting the back of the bezel green. I don't know which would make it greener, you may need to experiment a little bit to get the exact shade of green you are after. Good luck.

They come two to a pack and are about 2 to three dollars a pack depending where you get them and what brand name you get. You can knock off three for the turn signals and the hi-beam indicator and about four more for the ses, brakes, security, and seat belt. That should leave you about 13 to 14 bulbs.
Add 1 more if you want the AC/heater control panel to be green and another one if you want the shifter plate to be green.

To get to the bulb in the shifter plate, just remove the torx screws holding the plate down and lift it up. Bulb is at the rear of the panel, 1/4 turn and it comes out. AC/Heater control panel, remove face plate around radio and ac/heater control panel. Remove bolts holding control panel in bracket, slide panel out and bulb is at rear of panel on right side as you look at it. 1/4 turn and it comes out. Simple!!!!!
These bulbs aren't near as pricey as the ones that go in the third brake light mounted in the spoiler. They are about 7 to 9 dollars each and it takes about eight of them.

master, but u'd think white and blue would be light blue too right? but for some reason the light is still white. i was thinking about that too.
yeah, i bought one of those 3rd brakelight bulbs and it was 6.50. i then discovered 6 were needed and not just one, so i dumped the idea. well thanx. 194 green bulbs is my new mission this week. thanx again

there are 11 bulbs in your guages youll want to change...get 2 more if you want to replace your feet dome lights too. Yes all 13 of them are 194. I really like the color of the APC blue bulbs they seem to be nicer then the otherones i have bought.

ok guys, i just started the insalling of the green bulbs. they disapointed me. they are dim. not to mention i couldn't find a way to get the speedo/odometer guage off. there is a screw holding it in behind the guage face that i can't reach. any tips on either? i want my guages to be brighter.
JCurrier, since u chose blue, how did u get the clock to show blue also? thanx

I have eurolite blue/hyperwhite 194's in my guages and shift plate. they look AWESOME compared to the stock bulbs. They have that very light blue glow, but there a LOT brighter than stock, and that's what looks so good!

Couple Questions.....
Hey, so all one has to do is pop out their current cluster, and then replace all the current bulbs with blue ones and you get the blue guages? And the LED's are brighter/more effecient right? (and who online and offline sells the lcd's?)
Now, I have an '88 SC, with the 85 mph/kph speedo. Will this still work or even look good? And would I have to paint the bezel?
and anyone got any pics?

Anyone done the LED thing in the tech section with two LEds per socket with resistors on back? If so how do I know what resistors to use?

wait... from reading some other posts it sounds like putting led's in in place of the stock 194 bulbs is quite the chore. Is it all that hard?
And if it is, it looks like the best deal is to get a bulb with like 4-6 led's inside a stock fitting 194. Is that right?
thanks

I am thinking of changing mine to red, whats the deal with the cluster of led's, is it a direct plug in or does some modifying need to be done??
Its a direct plug in, I have a friend that has done it in his Chevy truck. He told me all of this after I already took my dash apart and put red bulbs in. Just make sure its the LEDs in the 194 socket. Also, the single LEDs and the clusters produce different types on lights. Some are concentrated and some disperse real well, depends on what you want.
I see them on Ebay a lot...as far as at a store, i dont know...maybe a custom shop or something? Price varies too, depends on if you get 1 led, or like 4 in one socket. I'll be going that route as soon as my painted bulbs fade and start to turn pink!

Get the green 194 LEDs. I bought the blues and they are great. Get the 4 led 194s.
