cluster swap

2 quick questions. 1) is there anyway to roll back the odometer on a 90-92 cluster, and 2) will the gas guage show whats in the tank on your car, or will it show what was in the other car?

1. Anything is possible. I think there are companies that will do it for you if you prove that your changing the mileage to make it acurate. 2. The guage gets it's reading from the sending unit so it'll tell you what's in your tank.

I would assume if you could make a freind in a GM service department they could do it for you. It might cost you some money, but if you talk to the manager of the bay and explain that you want to keep the milage accurate he will probably be understanding and let the work be done. Explain to him that if he turns you away he is adding to the problem of undocumented mileage to cars...for all he knows your car could be a future trade and they would get the shaft.

While were kind of on the subject. I just bought a remanufactured gauge cluster off Ebay with a brand new crystal clear case. It's made for a v6 and I have a v8 305. Now the only problem is, is that when im shifting at 5000 (My 5" Autometer tach) my stock gauge reads like 7000, which is pretty cool lol. But I was wondering if you can reprogam it to read for a v8, if so how and will I have to take it to a chevy dealer?

V6 and V8 tachs are different, as far as I know they aren't programable.

I have 2 or 3 90-92 Camaro clusters if you need one. At least one for sure is from a 305 V8 Camaro.
