I just got this baby... What do you guys think would be the best place to mount it?

 

here's how it looks at night... i thought it would suit my car

 

on the dash, right on top of the vents

 

what did that cost you. i want to get a new tach with shift light and that one looks awsome. i too don't know were to mount it. i was thinking maybe under the dual vents in the middle of the dash. im not sure if i would like that.

 

Ill save you the trouble and you can just send it to me but I think it would work out well either on the A pillar or right under the two center vents on the dash

 

That's a good place to mount it, in fact that's where i have mine mounted. Only my tach is an Autometer Monster w/shift lite on the face of the tach, not sure if the external shift light would cause any problems as far as clearance or whatnot.DUECE

 

Nothing like a big ole r1cer tach on top of the dash for everyone to see how ugly it is.

 

I agree with the folks quoted above. I prefer the stealth location...

to answer your question it was about $200 US on ebay.

 

In the box it came in... just looks gaudy and would be out of place which is probably why they refered to it as ****

the place that alot of people prefer to put it is indeed to the right of your steering wheel under the vents...i on the other hand like the traditional placement...on the dash pad onto of the vents... that way...when its time to shift you get blinded by the light :P

but its all about your preference... i like it..who makes it though?

Mr Dude1, if the speedo matched that would look awesome. as it is, it looks unbalanced. Otherwise, i'd definately say fill the empty space under the vents instead of on the dash pad. it looks like it'd be too big to look right on the a-pillar.

mw66nova, could you post another picture of the guages that you put where the lighter and rear defrost were? From what I can see they look great.

besides, everyone in highschool knew that my car could only go 85.... just look at the speedo.

The best place to mount it by far is.....in my car! Nice tach, mount it by the vents keep it low and clean looking!

 

Yeah, that's a ri<x>cer tach, since ric<x>ers started using those first and everything.

Anyway, I say in the middle under the vents.
