Stress Cracking?

Hey all got a question about stress cracking. I started getting stress cracks so I installed subframe connectors on my 91 Z, but unfortunately it seemed to be too late for my door, as they continue to get worse. Is this because they were already cracked before I subframed it, or can there still be a problem?

I'm wanting to get new doors, but my main concern is that they will stress crack also.

Opinions?

Where is the cracking? If it is at the hinge it will need to to be fixed. They will have to take off the door clean up the area and weld it back together and re atached the hinge. I have only seen this happen to a mini van before and they seemed to fix it without any problems. Cost $600 though. Subframes will not fix your problem since the material is already permanately deformed.

I had stress cracks in my door at the window regulator motor mount points. Had to replace window regulator anyway, so while I had it out I had the cracks welded and blended out. Used a rat tail file to smooth out the rivet holes for the window regulator motor mounts.

It's along the door molding. It's hard to see it all, but there's quite a few cracks.

Aye I know this door will continue to crack, I was mainly wondering if I got a new door, would it start cracking too, or would it be ok since I do have the subframes now, and there will be no pre-existing damage.

Is it the actual door or is it the paint? Or is it the molding. I don't see how the outside skin of the door will stress crack. Rust yes but crack no.

I haven't pulled the molding off to check and see yet, so I really can't give you an answer to that.

I had the same look on my car, it was the paint on mine. So ya check out the molding and the paint.
