how much should I expect to pay to have both 1/4 panels removed from an 84 Firebird??? the rear 1/4 panels are only about 1 to 1 1/2 years old so they are pretty much mint.

It will vary from shop to shop. Your best best it to bust out the Yellow Pages and start calling around.

yeah call around, when you find a cheap price call around and mention that cheap price it'll make the rest a bit cheaper

Are quarter panels that much of a ***** to take off and on? Sorry for sounding ignorant, never done this myself, fenders are pretty damn easy, but I imagine the quarter panels are "Stuck" to some suspension unit? Thanks.

fenders are just bolted on. 1/4 panels have to be cut off, fitted, then weld in and smooth the weld with filler. oh yeah the 1/4 panel was about $500 from GM

Ouch, no wonder, I thought it looked rather pricey, had no idea quarter panels were welded on. Makes sense now.

Few weeks ago i did two 1/4s at work, its a bitch, you have to drill out every spot weld with a started hole and then use a spotweld remover on the drill and then you have to cut it off, and then...well..you gwet the point, its a lot of work, thats why its soo much $$$
