i crashed my new baby :'(

yea...my 2 week old 89 camaro iroc z 5.7 tpi fully loaded 3.27rear limited slip, power seats, power mirros, power door locks, ac, t-tops, leather interor,

so heres the story on valentines day i just got done having 5hrs of awesome action dropping the girl off and on 99north someone decides to stop for no reason suddenly so i see it comming and slam on the brakes early...had enough following distance but only had one hand on the wheel well i get down to about 15 and steer slightly into the emergency lane but than my hand slipped and pulled it stright to the concrete divider...at 15mph... i almost cried i was so upset...that was after every curse word came out of my mouth didnt even stop didnt want to bother looking drove it home and well good news....only took out the bumper cover and lover valence (airdam) and drivers fender...none of the brackets or reinforcments were taken out or dammaged i hit it at the perfect angle. and no suspension or steering dammage just alignment.. well i am a dip **** and gonna figure otu what im gonna do go through insurance, take advantage of the exact same model and color sittin at local salvage just took off a part the other day from it. buy parts online have it done professionally, or go through insruance ill get pics and details tommorrow or today hehe

I'd say go back to the junk yard and get what you need. Hopefully the colors match close enough, what color is the car anyway?

Those pics look bad, but not as bad as I was originally picturing. That looks like you need a new nose, fender, and front GFX, overall not TOO bad.

So did i, last year, a lot worse then that also, new fenders hood adn nose of my old 91 RS all nested in place now on the 87 IROC, thats nothing bad, as long as you didnt bend the bumper support like i did, i had that thing on the frame machine at work for a whole day, amde it nice and straight, but once you rip it appart, youll know...

I doubt your unibody is bent it might have flexed hard check your roof behind your drip rails to see if theres any cracks. A lady came over on me and i slammed on the brakes and slid into a storm drain (it came about 3 inches out from the curband was about 7 inches high) the front end popped up in the air and i landed sideways in a 3 lane road. All it did was **** up my alignment i was doing about 25 when i hit it. I hate ****ing cell phones! She didnt even stop! and police couldnt do anything since there was no contact.

I feel your pain....almost exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. Some asswipe tried changing lanes into my rear rear quarter and spun me into a divider at 30mph. F'ed up the front dr fender and bumper, headlight, bumpersupport, etc. AND tweaked the whole rear end. bent the torque arm, both lower control arms, dr. rear axle is f'ed, as is the brake, and who knows what else.

i agree and am very surprised it kept going in a straight line also being it isnt anti lock and all i guess i was realy lucky that night and the damage i have now is minimal to what realy could have happend.... both sides of the road were littered with huge trees that would have done some damage if i did spin out... i just still cant beleive how close i came to having a deer in my lap at 95... i have alwase herd about it happening and actualy killing the driver and stuff but never thought it might happen to me...

a while back (2 years) a cusin of mine she was 16 and she was ridng in a mini van with her parents... well they hit a deer and it went through the windshirld and killed her in the back seat....

it sickens me big time every time i see my car and those scrathes on it in the windshield..... thats one thing i like about hunting season it weeds those bastered deer off...friggen deer

sorry for venting guys my family and deer dont mix and this was just kind of a big *** reality check for me having it happen to my cusin and almost happen to me

but on a side note i am slowely fixer the camaro up... ive bought a radiater for it now im on the look out for the rest of the parts i need to fix her up for the long drive to texas this february.

oh yeah and when i get around to it ill take soem pics of the 200 foot long skid marks for you guys to see... i still remember i got a ride that night back to my friends ware i was staying that night and he was more pist then i was because i was still in shock that my car was trashed and he realy liked my car and wanted it in the worst way and he was like you prolly didnt even try to stop all mad acting and for the rest of the night i was thinkign to my self there better be soem skid marks there to proov that i tried to stop... because i was still in such a state of shock that i couldnt remember how it happend and wat i did but the next day i seen them and every day i travel that raod wich is like every day i see them and they make me a bit P1ssed off every time i see them.

on the look out for:

hood (anything but a base model hood)
nose(mines cracked)
headlight bezil ( with lights and mounting hardware)
fender (drivers side)
air box (tpi )
radiater shroud

i can get you those for pretty cheap and in good condition...any specific color....sacramento has alot of salvage yards..i can get you the headlight...fender, and nose for $93 for sure the rest im unsure about airbox probably 10, srhoud 20.....
