Should I get white Faced Gauges...?

I'm thinking about getting a set of white faced gauges....but if I Get them...for some reason..I'm thinking it will make my interior look "cheap". I wish I could get a set of more like a silver faced...a soft aluminum look faced...but I don't think they are produced. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

They make silver ones as well as white ones. Macewen makes them. Take a look on this site and I bet you find some. I think you should get them because they will match your automete gagues.

Here is a pic of mine, hopefully it will give you some idea. I personally think white will look good because it will match your A-pillar gauges. Hope this helps

del91_305, where did you get yours? They do look pretty good...most of the new cars have white or silver faced gauges. If I decide to do it.....will I need to change the bulbs too? Is the cluster hard to get out? Does anyone have a picture of the slider faced gauges? I know I've seen some of the white faced gauge over lays that are just stickers or something.....is that what everyone uses or what?

I got them off of ebay, they were only like 25.00 dollars. Whether you have to change the bulbs or not depends on which ones you get, with mine, they have the lights in the gauges, im not exactly sure how it works but its the same as a indiglo watch. And as far as installation, its pretty easy, just requires some basic knowledge and common sense. here is what they look like at night:

I agree with him. Get some Autometer ones to match the ones on your a pillar. Eventually I wanna get all Phantom gauges to match the three I'm putting on the pillar.

But I understand all those gauges can be expensive and more work than just faces (Thats why I have white faces right now). I don't think they'll make your car look cheap, at least your gauges will more closely match the ones on the pillar.

If you go with Autometer, do not use the Phantom gauges. Instead, get the Autometer Lunar Series. Both look very similar in daylight but at night, the Lunar series look identical to lit up white-faced gauges. I have stock white-faced gauges in my Lightning and one Lunar series gauge that was given to me by the previous owner so I have first-hand experience on this.

maybe I'm missing something...I just did a search on "silver face gauges" and every picture I saw....looked white as can be. Am I missing something here because they don't look silver at all in any way.....MacEwens looked the best in quality though. I don't think I want ones that are "indglo" but more of just maybe an intense but yet soft white....something that isn't "dingee" (how ever that is spelled.) Would I have to get like xenon filled bulbs or something? Anyone have anything like that?

Willie you drive a ford? LOL just kidding I am not a big ford fan but I do like the lightning!

Let's put it this way.... We needed a truck. I wanted one that best holds its value. I found it and bought it. And it's hard to beat 380 hp out of a stock engine! Think of it another way. I don't have to drive my Camaro everyday now. I'm now more comfortable with the fact that I'll eventually have to install a roll cage. So no, I have not changed my allegiance!

Back to the topic. Whether white or silver-faced gauges, if you decide to go with aftermarket gauges, go Lunar Series. Here's a pic of my new tranny temp gauge, lit and not lit. Compare the lit pic with the white-faced cluster (lit) above. They look identical. BTW, my gauge is for sale and it's new! I decided not to use it in my L.

that's the same exact set i want. but i still havent seen any pics of those at night. anyone have a decent pic?? i want it to look exactly like it would as if they had been factory. no light blockage or anything. my fear is putting these on and seeing how great they look during the day but then not being able to see all the #'s at night.

Now THOSE look cheap. If you want to go white faced get the "indiglo" set, much cleaner and nicer looking than those!

well...I emailed the dude on ebay who is selling the gauge overlays and this iw what he had to say:

"you wouldnt really need to change the bulbs at all, but due to the fact of how camaros gauges are set up some areas will be bright while other areas will be dim. its not an evenly spread out brightness. You would have to look at the third picture in the auction page to get a better look at how the gauges light up at night. if you have any other questions please get back to me. thanks for your interest!!"

Where are the indiglo sets available at? I can't seem to find'em.....
